I use Brave as my default browser on all my devices. I’m a satisfied user.
I use Opera. I like it!
“I’m using Brave right now and have used it for several years now. I like it!”
Me too. Good stuff.
I like Brave myself.
Thanks but does not appear on my version. Playing around with three dots on top right and the circle within a circle next to them appears to give entree to bookmarking. Not intuitive though.
Imperative. At the end of sessions, I use Process Explorer to shut down all of them, and then CCleaner to wipe the browser caches.
Least favorite -- Edge. Most -- probably Brave.
Yeah, my thought is that if the no go websites are not too numerous, I can still fall back on Chrome very occasionally, and Google will get a very incomplete “picture” of me, which I can even manipulate to a modest degree if I wish.
I7 6th gen processor, 16 GB RAM DDR4-3200 UDIMM (although I’m trying out a 2nd 16 GB stick just to see if it makes much difference - not so far), 500 GB NVME M.2 OS and Programs SSD (Page File there too, but I don’t expect it to get touched), 500 GB data SSD, Win 10 Pro. Pretty capable machine by my standards.
I’ve used both. For a while I used Opera exclusively and now I;ve gone back to it because it has some nice features including a built-in free VPN. As the net has grown more dangerous, using a free built-in VPN seems like a no-brainer. Opera has a large area for most-used websites where you just hit the icon. Some other browsers have copied this.
Brave never knocked my socks off although the white paper at inception showed it was going to be a user-centered browser. I wound up using it for going to sketchy websites on reddit to get access to NBA games for free.
I use the Brave browser mainly for optimal ad blocking for You Tube videos.
I’d like that. Though I read there’s a browser called Torch that’s excellent for YT downloads. (Sort of a specific use browser.)
Any feedback on Brave’s (built-in, IIRC) VPN?
I use Brave on my iPhone instead of safari - I can look at YouTube ad-free and it doesn’t track my browsing activity.
I’m very happy with it
Thank you. With UBlock origin, clearing cookies regularly & having turned off tracking on Chrome, no personalized ads, I am willing to trade the possibility of my browsing history being kept for the performance. That may not be trus for others.
I use Opera for one main reason. I live overseas and if I want to access some US websites ( mainly county sites ), I am denied access because I am connecting from an overseas IP address. Opera has a built in proxy I can turn on to access from a US address.
Ditto your experience with brave. It is the only browser I use anymore. On every device.
Not a problem. Might be for my daughter, but she doesn’t use my PCs!
RE: Printing
The several browsers I checked have differing commands available. Some allow full-page, some print ‘as is’, and some allow adjustments.
Some of the printer option allow you to select the default Window’s printer and that allows additional options.
That’s great info.!
It does it so well that I did not even realize that YouTube had ads.
I try to use Rumble as much as possible but when you are trying to figure out why your snowblower is not working YouTube is still king.
Not so much printing as using print preview to get cleaner pages to save to file, but, either way, yeah, the browsers vary. Any recollection on Brave? The feedback here overall is pretty impressive.
