The first time I saw and heard what vigilante justice was, I was inside a Waffle House in Dallas, Texas in 1982.

I was eating an early Saturday morning breakfast with my mother, I was 15 years old. A drunk guy was getting angry, rude, and mean with the wait staff, so they told him to leave. He refused, so the manager said he would call the cops and have him removed. He started cussing and throwing things and said he was going to his truck to get his gun and he was coming back in and killing everyone!

I knew my mother carried a snub-nosed 38 in her purse, and as he left she grabbed her purse, pulled out the 38, and had it under the table. As this was happening, I heard at least four other slides racking and the manager leaned down like he was getting something out from under the cash register.

The drunk just got in his vehicle and left. But if he had walked back inside that Waffle House, I have no doubt they would have been able to use him as a sieve when everyone was done with him!! LOL!

I do both of those and I get mine “protein style”!!

That makes for a very good-tasting burger that doesn’t have any heavy bread to weigh you down...I work in construction, in Texas...a heavy lunch, 102º in the shade, and I’ll be sleeping in my truck! LOL!

Moved out of LA so I can no longer get Tommy’s and Whataburger. I live in the boonies but there is an In-N-Out 8 miles from me so life is good.

Four last time I checked.

All in Saginaw county which is sort of why I do not count it as a chain.

OMG!!! I got a chance to go to my first Buc-ees this past spring. That place is a riot and probably one of the best chopped brisket sandwiches I have ever eaten!

Can’t wait to hit them again in March on my way down south!

That is one of them in the Tony's group.

That is Tony's I-75. And the Original Tony's in Saginaw and Tony's on Fashion Square which is just off Tittabawassee and is not as good IMHO. There is also Tony's on Center but I have never been there so can not say if it is any good.

Each one has a motif designed around the surrounding area...the first one, just off the west end of Galveston Island, is based around beach-going, swimming, etc...the ones in central Texas are based around river rafting, floating the river, etc...the one near Texas Motor Speedway (in Fort Worth) has lots of race car paraphernalia.

But they ALL have great BBQ sandwiches! They also make fresh potato chips...fried in-store! They are AWESOME!

I used to get “protein style” but the lettuce is always so wet. Now I just get a single burger with grilled onion and without cheese. My carb intake is low enough that a little hamburger bun one in a while won’t hurt.

I didn’t know about that. We’re in Michigan right now but live on the east coast.

“ FWIW, I’m like Arby’s menu. They have a greek gyro sandwich that slays”

Agreed. I LOVE gyros and when I travelled for work every week (pre-covid) I would typically seek one out. A few were excellent but most were “meh”. Arby’s aren’t the absolute best, but they are consistently very good. Better on average than the Greek places with 4+ stars on Yelp.

“Beverly and Rampart?”

ABSOLUTELY!!! Although the Roscoe location is also top-notch. Others still good, though...

Or Moe’s BBQ or heck I would take one of the thousands of Mexican restaurants around. I ate at Miloes once. It sucked so bad I never tried again. That and it seems to be a mid-south Alabama thing. Oh well another thing where Bama sucks but I hope it keeps the Yankees away.

Btw - my church is filling up with out of staters. They are good/nice Christians but the point is so many are moving here. I had hoped between GA, TN, FL … they would miss AL but … oh well. Most are very nice, good Christian/conservative people. I do miss my small town commute to the bigger town but it’s getting very crowded. Grandma Ivey sucks and she can’t see beyond the Montgomery to Birmingham to Tuscaloosa corridor.
