It’s usually best to read the actual article, or at least the excerpt, before commenting. The title for this one was misleading.
Yes, the headline is a disaster. I thought when I read it that Navratilova was attacking the idea of the family while also making anti-Semitic comments.
The number of comments on FR recently that display total lack of reading comprehension is getting downright scary.
those days are long gone- back in highschool- i had 2 different teachers grab me by the throat for being a wise ass- one teacher during lunch saw a fight- jumped up on the tables- ran across them and tackled the kids- like something out of rambo-
never once did we think of suing- it was just ‘just rewards for being a jerk’ really-
I miss the days where the headline matched the body of the article.
What was the rabbi doing in Times Square besides trolling for anti-semetism?
Scary is an appropriate word.
It seems the levels of hate and intellectual laziness on the forum are seeking new lows.
27 Are you stupid or just an anti-Semite plant here at FR.
As I recall, Boteach’s synagogue is located in that area.
So a rabbi now cannot walk freely around an area of his work?
Sounds just like the Nazi “Nuremberg” restrictive laws that were the start of the destruction of normal everyday rights of German Jews to live normal lives.
You noticed that too? The comments sections of a lot of FR threads have become simply unreadable because if it. If people aren't going to read the articles or have nothing intelligent to say besides childish name-calling and adolescent fantasizing about how to punish malefactors, they need to just keep still.
yup, school was the least of my worries if i got in trouble...
OH Yeah...
LOL - I was going to comment but see you’ve already taken plenty of hits for your post. So I’ll just say ‘Merry Christmas’ to you.
“The headline could be misinterpreted that Navratilova made the anti-Semitic remarks. She didn’t.”
I agree. From the headline, I wasn’t sure what the hell was going on. To tell the truth, on the basis of the headline, if I had been forced to proffer a guess as to what it all was about, I’d have said that apparently Martina N has Jewish family members and there’s a viral video of her bashing them with anti-Semitic remarks. But, of course, that’s not even close to the actual story. A better headline would have been along the lines of “Tennis Legend Navratilova rips Muslim family who harrassed rabbi.”
The number of comments on FR recently that display total lack of reading comprehension is getting downright scary.

Perhaps, if the OP could post a little bit more (or all) of the article, there would not be such confusion about the content based on the lousy headline and short excerpt.
If not, at least the OP could make a statement alluding to that in Comment 1.
FReepers are notoriously bad readers, rely on headlines and have comprehension issues!
A gay, Canadian referenced in a headline (coupled with either Jewish or muslim identities) is going to cause comprehensive issues!!!!!
