I nearly put a fire engine through the front of the city community center when the new officer told me to turn on the ice covered entrance that went down hill. I said I didn’t think it was wise before I turned but he didn’t back off. He later apologized after we got done shoveling out our pants and getting pulled back to the top of the hill by a guy in a 4x4 diesel pickup.

Last time I was at Disneyland was in 1980. We must have ended up there on “fat people” day, because we were constantly having to dodge double-wides pushing strollers. This was before you saw this everywhere.

Chains don’t do a lot on black ice. It is not a thick crunchy layer the chains can bite into ... it is probably less than 1/8” thick, but fully ice.

That was about the time of my last visit, too. Ours was maybe 1995 when our youngest was four. Somehow that useless bit of trivia about Disneyland tickets stuck in my mind. Maybe it was the price sticker shock even back then.
