Well, it’s technically possible the chickens might know the eggs are going missing... but they’d forget about it in about 1.5 seconds, so does that really count?
Eggs are an Easter tradition and make good money for the egg industry. What this demand from PRTA does is peg them as anti-business and, I suspect, Marxists.
The Maoist cultural revolution will leave no stone unturned.
Any dispute, any argument is an opportunity to rule.
An opportunity to gain power.
That is why the Left continuously does this stupid stuff. Leftist groups intrude where they have no business, but they start an argument over something, anything, and the resolution of the argument is an opportunity for them to gain power.
Whether it is the White House Easter Egg roll, joining the Audubon Society to create a dispute over renaming “racist” bird names, blocking some logging road they have no connection to... or whatever,... the object is to create an argument, create a dispute, where they have the opportunity to acquire and exercise power.
By doing this, they create something (political power for them) out of nothing. It’s like magic. Or fractional reserve banking.
It only works because their nonsense is not summarily rejected.

First I would argue whether chickens are sentient and secondly chickens be laying eggs whether they are rolled on the WH lawn or not.
