Iranians might be theocrats, but they are not stupid.
They realize that Israel would have thought through Iran’s likely responses BEFORE going after IRRG generals operating from the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
What Iran must contend with is whether Israel WANTS Iran to do something, to justify a major response (an attack on Hezbollah/Syria, Iran’s energy infrastructure, etc.), and/or to force the US to support Israel massively, despite the Democrats of Michigan. Is Iran ready for a really big show?
I don’t doubt the “from within Israel” part.
The Israelis have been very lax in guarding their borders (some of the lines with Jordan and Egypt are wide open for miles...)
They have the ability to do a whole lot better with her border defenses (as they have in taking the necessary action regarding dangerous Arabs that they permit to continue residing within their country).
And the CIA will help them do it!
