What would be the basis of the lawsuit? The A’s have a stadium lease that expires at the end of this season. Are you saying the city of Oakland should get a court to force the A’s to sign a lease extension against their will?

The stadium is near the high crime area, and is ran down. Las Vegas is an upcoming city.

As an A's fan since 68 it really sucks that they are leaving. Watching young players grow into great players and the watching them leave year after year has worn down the fan base. As far back as the 2000's I called the Oakland A's the New York Yankees AAA team.
I understand the desire to move to Vegas. $$$. I also understand that the city of Oakland is in no position to support a new stadium. The cities infrastructure is a disaster and the costs to rebuilt it is astronomical. All the owners after the Wolfe family have been penny pinching assholes. This guy just takes the top spot by a mile.
The extension deal was never going to happen. The city of Oakland wanted to keep the Athletics name and colors once the lease extension was over. That is just a microcosm of the entire city/team negotiating structure for the last decade.
As far as becoming a fan of the "other" team in the bay area. Not gonna happen.

A’s had trouble drawing a million during their championship run from 72-74. Except for a few years, Oakland has never supported the franchise when it comes to ticket sales.

I am thinking many fans will be taking souvenirs after the last home game of the season.I attended the final game in the old Yankee stadium. I recall people leaving with seats they had unbolted.

We still have the Oakland Outlaws roller derby team. Doesn’t that count for something?

The Red Sox played their last game in Oakland on Wednesday. The Red Sox radio commentators noted that the 4,000 plus people in the stadium were mostly Red Sox fans.
The Red Sox won 1 to 0.

Yankees and Oakland are the only teams to win three world championships in a row.

Yes, but that hardly supports the assertion that they are the second best team in baseball history. That might be an appropriate argument that they are tied for best dynasty of the 1970s, but not all baseball history.

A’s should have won three World Series in a row twice. Those 88-90 LaRussa teams - by far the strongest in either league - managed to lose two WS that should not have been competitive.

Fisher’s been tanking for years to chase fans away so he’d have an excuse to leave.
