“Grabbing her phone, Mary dialed 911.”

A truly legitimate use of the 911 system. As opposed to calling because the pizza delivery guy is late, or your drug dealer shorted you on the ounce of marijuana you purchased.

Journalism is in a poor state these days. The seven foot gator of the headline was described as seven feet and eleven inches in the body of the article so the headline was an understatement. They could have rounded it up an inch to an eight-foot gator.

Alligators are an accepted hazard here.....but we really don’t expect one to find its way into the home.

Ha ha! True! I'm a Colorado boy and, during the late 90s, used to travel the states for a medical TV show that I produced. One trip, the travel assist booked me in a private condo near Miami. In the center of the units, there was a large pond. In that pond, was an alligator, complete with a "BEWARE OF ALLIGATOR" sign. It was a wierd thing for me to load in equipment while eyeballing the baby dinosaur!

(I now live in the mountains with frequent bear visits in the summer. I'm just waiting for the inevitable day when one gets inside...)

Most any body of fresh water here could have a gator occupying it......finding “em in swimming pools is a fairly common occurrence.....them an water moccasins.

Of course the sunshine state has more than it’s share of other Hazzards.

Florida is the lightning strike state capital of the US.
Sharks, sfore mentioned water moccasins, sinkholes, rip currents, giant roaches, the state bird is the mosquitoe, hurricanes and the tornadoes that hurricanes spawn, and the latest....MALARIA.

And let’s not forget the Senior drivers. 😏

Lol!!... And “Florida Man”! 😜
That FR ongoing meme cracks me up because, on that same TV trip, I went into a fast food place and there was an older Florida man in line, wearing nothing but his underwear. He, otherwise, looked normal. They kicked him out.

Florida Man gets a bad rap....because Florida is not exactly full of native Floridians anymore.

Chances are most antics attributed to him are actually refugees from other states.......and more than likely they’re yankees.....and I don’t mean the baseball team. 😏
