“And the source for that belief?”
“On the basis of what evidence?”

Here’s just a few of the dozens of sources.

In the weeks before the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks in Israel, young female soldiers warned their superiors that an invasion was imminent but say they were ignored. CBC’s Terence McKenna breaks down the intelligence failure and examines how the attackers were able to penetrate one of the most secure fences in the world.

What did Israel know about Hamas’ October 7 attack?
By Rob Picheta and Simone McCarthy, CNN
Updated 4:14 PM EST, Fri December 1, 2023

What did Israel reportedly know about the attack?
Israeli officials obtained a document describing Hamas’ battle plan for its October 7 terror attack more than a year before the militant group carried out the assault, the New York Times reported Thursday, citing documents, emails and interviews.

The roughly 40-page document did not give a date for the attack, but outlined “point by point” the kind of deadly incursion that Hamas carried out in Israeli territory in October, according to the Times, which reviewed the translated document.

Egypt warned Israel days before Hamas struck, US committee chairman says
11 October 2023
Israel was warned by Egypt of potential violence three days before Hamas’ deadly cross-border raid, a US congressional panel chairman has said.
House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee head Michael McCaul told reporters of the alleged warning.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu described the reports as “absolutely false”.
Israeli intelligence services are under scrutiny for their failure to prevent the deadliest attack by Palestinian militants in Israel’s 75-year history.

Harretz, Harare and the rest of the Israeli Left hate Netanyahu more than they hate Hamas

The Israeli Left is even more hard core and fanatical than in the US

They wish to fundamentally change Israeli society in much the same way Obama wishes to fundamentally change America

They are closely tied to Far Left wing of the US Democrat party and they owe their allegiance not to Israel but to the Communist Internacionale and work on behalf of like minded foreign interests in the international community to the detriment of Israel

To: hardspunned; All

America has its Leftist Americans who blame America for everything and Israel has similar citizens who hate blame Israel and pretend that is not the case by trying to deflect that blame to different Israeli political figures.

In re:

“Following the horrendous massacre of October 7, Israel needed to liberate the hostages and disarm Hamas, but these should not have been its only aims. [1] In light of the existential threat posed to Israel by Iran and its agents of chaos, Israel also needed to deepen its alliance with Western democracies, strengthen cooperation with moderate Arab forces, and work to establish a stable regional order. [2] However, the Netanyahu government ignored all these aims, and instead focused on revenge. It has failed to secure the release of all the hostages [3] and has not disarmed Hamas [4]. Worse, it intentionally inflicted a humanitarian disaster on the 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and thereby undermined the moral and geopolitical basis for Israel’s existence.”[5]

[1] It is only the authors that suggest “to liberate the hostages and disarm Hamas” were the ‘only aims’ of the Netanyhu government. The idiotic authors conflate immediate concerns as the “only” concerns and pretend so did tbe government; without foundation.

[2] The multinational response to Iran’s direct drone and missile attack on Israel recently show that Israel is deepening its alliance with Western democracies, and strengthening cooperation with moderate Arab forces, as things that will work to establish a stable regional order.

[3] The authors pretend that without cooperation or submission by Hamas that Isreal/Netanyahu can independently and singularly secure the release of all the hostage and [4] totally disarm Hamas.

[5] It is the very nature of Hamas and all the ways that it operates = making all of tbe people i n Gaza its “human shields” that ANY attempt by any means would INTENTIONALLY - on the part of Hamas - “create humanitarian disaster on the 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip”. The fault lies with Hamas not Netanyahu or Israel.

In re: The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the worsening situation in the West Bank are inflaming regional chaos, weakening our alliances with Western democracies, and making it harder for countries like Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to cooperate with us.”

[5] Not true, as multinational response to Iran’s direct attack on Israel showedd.

I won’t waste my time on the rest of the article because it is more of the same Leftist blame Israel or Netanyahu first in order to give passes to Israel’s enemies.

The gentleman's original allegation was exactly:

"Netanyahu was warned in advance and chose to do nothing."

None of the evidence you bring demonstrates that Bibi CHOSE to do nothing.

Rather, it appears a gargantuan mistake was made to discount the several warnings.

Until someone shows Bibi's and the government's state of mind was to purposefully allow an attack on it's own citizens, what YOU have is an allegation and conjecture supported by horrifying enough circumstances.

Not proof.

Proof, I would be happy to see.

Conjecture attributing near infinite malice and evil supported by nothing but conjecture glances into blood libel about the innate evil scheming of Jews.

So bring a real case, or stop imputing pure evil into others' hearts.

There's no evidence the Israelis did anything after being warned of an impending attack, so its only logical to conclude they CHOSE to do nothing.

Stop bending over backwards to excuse Natanyahu's malfeasance.

This is accurate, and horrifying enough:

“Israel Knew Hamas’s Attack Plan More Than a Year Ago

A blueprint reviewed by The Times laid out the attack in detail. Israeli officials dismissed it as aspirational and ignored specific warnings.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/30/world/middleeast/israel-hamas-attack-intelligence.html

The difference between bad judgement ignoring many warnings versus purposefully allowing the attacks is the key. The former happened. The latter has never been proved, to my knowledge.

Netanyahu is a politically dead man walking. He can’t be elected dog catcher. It is his responsibility that all the warnings were ignored. He’s going down, it won’t be pretty, and I support that.

But many here impute an evil motive in Netanyahu that he WANTED and ALLOWED the attack because the murder if his own civilians furthered some other political or strategic ends. That’s the distinction I’ll continue to defeat until someone comes up with evidence.

Amazing how Netanyahu haters ignore the organized sedition against Bibi led by Kaplan Force, and Institute for National Security Studies, with financing from the US State Department.

Then there are current senior military and intelligence such as Aharon Haliva, Ronen Bar, Yaron Finkelman, and Amit Sa’ar, all of whom at a minimum have been non-cooperative with Bibi and were directly responsible on October 6-7. Think Gen. Milley and Pres. Trump.
