“...You aren’t considering their contributions to biological warfare, are you? ...”

The fruits from the Wuhan labs could wipe out the world’s population in the blink of an eye.

They were working that much because they have to play catch-up to all the other students. There is a lot of cheating to get into US universities. They study four times more than US students to get the same grades. Chinese culture punishes failure so they never test anything. My son was a researcher in a university Ag lab when he was in high school. It’s mindless drone work.

I can relate as I was a chemistry major. Most of our lab assistants were graduate student foreigners.

One in particular I don’t think understood any English at all. He was a pleasant Chinese kid. He would always answer a question by thinking for a moment, then saying “yes” with a smile. Nothing more.

Being the rascal that I am, one day I decided to test him. I asked him a nonsensical question: “After I turn in my lab report, can I melt all the beakers at my station?”

He thought for a moment. “Yes”.

And a lot of cheating once you’re there. The fraternities and sororities are well-organized in that regard. As I noted in my post #23, I was a chemistry major. (Part-time while I was a security guard. Free tuition.)

Quick story: It’s the first exam in freshman chemistry. Maybe 100 students including me are present in a large lecture hall. The professor caught a student cheating. The professor screamed and yelled as the cheater slunk out of the room. “I’m going to get you expelled!”

Years later I found out that the cheater was a plant. The professor set the whole thing up to deter anyone else from cheating. Scared straight, eh?

Fraternities just have test databases. There are only so many questions you can ask. Students from China will use any advantage they can. A friend proctored an SAT exam. He sat at a desk at the front of the room. When the test began, he moved to the back of the room. The students from China lost their minds because they were all in the back.
When I was in school, we had assigned seating for the SAT but I think that went away.
