I believe the forum was originated by the Superintendent of Carlsbad Schools. Then, he cancelled it when it became apparent that there would be lots of protestors on all sides. Then, after that, Bill Morrow sued the Carlsbad School District (just last week, I believe), on the grounds that it is illegal for a public school district to cancel any controversial presentation solely on the grounds that there may be protestors in attendance. To do so violates free speech.

I think this is the gist of what happened ... why there was so much press coverage beforehand. There was a link on FR last week, but I couldn't find it.

I wonder if Armando Navarro showed up tonight? I wrote a letter to UC Riverside complaining about his anti-American activities at these meetings, and got a letter back stating that he was exercising his right to speak out, and that his views did not reflect those of the university. To think that we are paying his salary makes me sick.

The Cultural Arts Center is on the high school grounds but is a public use building and the Superintendant of Schools only authorizes the use of it.

The event was called and organized by Bill Morrow the local State Senator.

The superintendant was totally out of line and was told so by the city attorney.

I skimmed through the coverage on KFMB (local CBS), KGTV (local ABC) and there was no surprise what their spin was: Racist white supremacists hate Mexicans.

Their coverage is enraging! No attention paid to this being a concern about ILLEGAL immigration now any of the things actually talked about at the forum.

I watched the coverage of the Stalker outside the Bush ranch and, again no surprise, not one damn mention that he's ALREADY met with that cretinous cow.

yep, it's sad. I've noticed the same intellectual bankruptcy from the pro-illegal alien apologists that I notice in the anti-gun lobby.

No logic, no facts, just attacks and rhetoric. It's one of the things that got me off the fence (because I wasn't really paying attention) and into the pro-border security camp.

The best thing about them, though, is that they're their own worst enemies. Every time they open their mouths to attack, they hurt their cause. Which means that as long as we keep on the offensive, victory is inevitable.

If an audio archive is done, I'll attempt to do a transcript or at least a summary / article. There was some excellent information especially from the first speaker on the diseases that have exploded on the scene or been reintroduced in the United States thanks to illegal immigrants.
