Traditionally, of course, African-Americans have been equated with apes in various ways.

But W. withstood 8 years of him being compared to a chimp. Trump gets compared to an orangutan. In truth, they all have some characteristics that could be evocative of other specific primates. in that context, such nastiness, though nasty, is clearly not race-specific.

That is roughly the cost of running the White House for any president. Not the amount the Obama's spent on themselves.

It may be true that more taxpayer money was spent on the White House in the Obama years or it may not be true, but it's not like they put the money or its equivalent in goods into their own pockets and walked away with it.
