Always good to know who to target first when the shooting starts in this civil war.

“Lee went on to describe why he believed that the ‘so-called American cradle of democracy’ was a false narrative. ‘The United States of America was built on the genocide of native people and slavery,’ Lee said. ‘That is the fabric of the United States of America.’”

Lee whines about how hard it is to get his films funded. Comments like these certainly do not help instill confidence in potential investors.

Lee also misses the point of calling out “both sides”. NAZIs and the KKK committed mass murder and torture, and racism played a role in these acts. However, Socialists and Communists have committed at least as much atrocity driven by their ideology and quest for absolute power. And that ideology is representative of the so-called Antifa and BLM groups. So, yeah, BOTH SIDES need to be called out. Time to quit whitewashing the history of Socialism.

I believe that, at the height of slavery, slaves made up about one seventh of the population (about the same as the makeup of the “black” population today) in America. It is not possible for the nation itself to become massively wealthy on the backs of one seventh of the population’s labor no matter how skilled or hard-working they are.

Slavery existed throughout history, but Christianity has been the singular driving force behind making people free. And there was a war fought to liberate slaves who could not have liberated themselves otherwise. Whatever wealth the nation gained through slavery was probably destroyed in this very costly war.

A lot of white people died to free blacks from slavery. A lot of white children were made orphans for this cause. A lot of whites lived with lifelong injuries and other losses which were sacrificed to the cause of freeing black slaves. A lot of these white families never owned slaves and never agreed with slavery being practiced in this country. Leaving these facts out of the narrative about our nation’s history gets very old.

I wonder how many whites with no slave-owning ancestry have been attacked in “knockout games” by blacks who are descendants of slave owners. Was the inclination to this racism and violence motivated by their black-slave genes or their white-slave-owner genes? Perhaps they inherited them from their raping, slave-owner white ancestors. Perhaps, rather than taking out their frustrations about their heritage on others, they should go to work and give themselves some much needed reparations for the crimes some of their own ancestors did against some of their other ancestors. And stop attacking the descendants of the Christian white people who liberated their ancestors and spread liberty around the globe.

And the prosperity of this nation was built primarily upon the principles of property ownership and the limited role of government (which mainly serves to protect individual liberties such as ownership rights). And our wealth is the direct result of American ingenuity and the Protestant work ethic.

Lee is a talented filmmaker. Unfortunately his distorted view of reality taints what could otherwise be inspiring stories in his films.

Instead of playing identity politics, his efforts would be more productive at helping blacks and society as a whole by appealing to our shared human aspirations for freedom, justice, prosperity, and happiness. These are universal and not limited to people of certain ethnicities, shared histories, or specific cultures.

Time to quit trying to punish people for crimes they did not commit. There is a greater likelihood of a black person in this nation being the descendent of a slave owner or trader than there is for a white person to be so. Having a similar pigmentation to the majority of American slave owners does not make me guilty of their crimes in the slightest.

Actually, I’ll give Lee this: Summer of Sam was a masterpiece.

I’m willing to give Summer of Sam a try. He did a workmanlike job with Malcolm X and of course Denzel Washington was brilliant in the title role. But Do the Right Thing is a classic.

Spike Lee’s movie will soil the reputation of America. We better throw him his reparation money.

Anyone who knocks the KKK and also votes for the party that elected Robert Byrd for approx. FIFTY YEARS can be ignored.

The hypocrisy boggles the mind.
