I think the house judiciary committee could in fact authorize an investigation. It would have to be performed by their committee staff, or in public hearings.
They could request an FBI investigation, but Trump would justifiably ignore it.
And, they'd look ridiculous creating articles on anything other than stuff occurring post 9/6/2018.

Either of those 2 events would martial a lot of enthusiasm...Whether or not the voting booth is bypassed remains to be seen.
I feel a little better, but really, just look at the sentence that tells how many senate votes are needed to convict. And they have the nerve not to start with that fact.

Hardly anyone has ever been convicted. Both impeached presidents were not convicted.

Because Republican voters, for the most part, aren’t stoopid. They’ve seen what the GOP(the party of bush), rinos and neverTrumpers, have done to STOP the Trump agenda. They’ve seen with their own eyes the deep-state running a coup against Trump and only a handful of republicans have come to his aid.
Today I heard Dershowitz said it’d be unconstitutional to impeach a sitting justice .
