I remember reading a while back that the so called Russians bought less than 100K in ads. Even if that were so, that is a less than a drop in the ocean compared to the hundreds of millions of dollars in ads spent by Hildabeast.

The bottom line is this company in Russia is a click-bait farm. They had no interest in interfering with our election or creating any chaos here.
It exists to make money through the cyber equivalent of creating and selling client lists. They create websites and sell them.
At some point in the hearings, Zuckerberg had to admit that the grand total for all of the Facebook ads purchased...was in the 1-million to 1.5 million range. Like you suggest....each ad was probably in the $5k range.
The curious result here came up in the spring of 2017 where two professors completed a fake news study over the election. What they discovered was that most people (I think it was near 90-percent)...could NOT remember a fake news story more than two weeks.
People are inundated with information 24/7 and the bulk of it gets ‘wiped’ every single week. So even if the Russians spent a million...it’s not likely that people remembered much of anything.
The Russians don’t run America’s major news outlets. Posting funny frog pictures didn’t change anyone’s mind on who to vote for. The Russians aren’t the ones spying on every American, Russians aren’t the ones framing their political enemies. Russians don’t control our tech industry and deplatform people they disagree with. Russians aren’t the ones trying to overthrow the duly elected president of the United States. Russians aren’t harassing people at their jobs or when they take their families out to eat.
Well to be fair, Hillary wanted to start a totally pointless war with Russia over Syria. I can’t imagine many Russians (or Americans) wanted that.
Wow. Those Russians are so darn smart. With a couple of thousand dollars, they can swing a US national election - and Hillary spent how many billions? - to no avail.
Just shows how much a piker Hillary is. How could she run a Presidency when, with all her billions and solid main-stream media support, she couldn’t hold off a couple thousand-dollars worth of ads from those sly Russians? How could such a schlemiel possibly face off against Putin? Cheesh.
