I’ve seen a lot of these hearings where the questions are preplanned to leave a certain impression. A negative answer to “Do you believe” is meaningless. The follow up should be: “Do you believe politics was NOT involved?” The agent does not know, and so properly should have no informed belief. He even admitted that parts of the investigation happened before he was involved.
Instead of accurately describing the point of the answer they cherry-pick “the agent did not believe that politics was involved”. The article contains many relevant facts, but headline writer at Fox provides a misleading headline.
