Was Reagan's funeral truth or politics according to white corporate America? I thought it was a big load of propaganda bullshit, and that half of it was made up to advance the political image of George Bush, following in the boots of Saint Ronnie. How come the white corporate media didn't call that "political"??? "Political" is only what they don't want to hear. Wise up.

Actually, if Reagan's funeral had been like King's, someone would have gone up to the podium and said, "Unlike one President with us here today who was sexually gratified by an intern in the Oval Office, Ronald Reagan had so much respect for the room that he didn't even take his jacket off while working there."

You can celebrate Mrs. King's politics without taking cheap shots at invited guests.

More to the point, the pot shots (especially Lowery's) were based on lies. So, to defend them, one must defend the idea that telling a lie from the pulpit of a church is justified as long as it has some connection to the dearly departed's general political beliefs.

"As we honor Ronald Reagan today, we must never forget that 9-11 happened because Bill Clinton was too busy sodomizing interns to take Al Queda seriously."

Great minds think alike. See my post 121.

That reminds me... I was sick over the weekend. Did the big rally down in DC wind up driving BushCo from office and installing John Kerry as President?

It would have, but Kerry was snowboarding and couldn't get to DC in time.

Hey, it is that dreary soporific monotone that is going to . . . um . . . you know . . . pave the way to Republican victory in 2008! The Rove has so decreed.

Fox did a poll this week asking people about who they'd vote for if Kerry or Hillary went up against Rudy or McCain. Rudy was beating Hillary by 13 points, and McCain was in the double digits, too.

She's done, but the good news is the Clintons still have enough power to get her the nomination. All we have to do is make sure there's not a RINO nominee in '08.

You and PJ, Silverback, and all of the other regulars on DUFU, are truly a blessing in the world. To read DU without the saving grace of your wit would be to endanger one's sense of spiritual balance. Thank you all, again and again.

I am humbled. Thank you for your kind compliment.

I'd like to see a campaign montage commercial of all these episodes

Yep, run them all, and then have a tagline at the end: "These people can't even get a funeral right. Vote GOP."

All we have to do is make sure there's not a RINO nominee in '08.

And make sure that we don't get sandbagged by another "Ross Perot" run designed to split the Clinton opposition.
