Assuming that Maryland’s private schools aren’t required to teach this homosexual cr*p then explain how the state’s public schools have a *duty* to do so.

While I'm one of the most right wing America-first types around, one has to wonder at what point God is more offended by the antics of our enlightened democracy than he is by a Mohammedan cutting off the head of someone who advocates for those antics.

That sometimes enters my mind with regard to the abortion issue, which in my opinion should go back to the states.

I think the rule of thumb should be: If you're going to indulge in homosexuality, keep it to yourself; if you don't, expect to be publicly disdained. There's quite a lot to be said for closets.

Homosexuality and demand for abortions are, like prostitution, a part of the human condition. They have always existed and will continue as long as man, by the Grace of God, draws breath. We know how to deal with them to be right: to shun some things in a Christian manner. Those are rules of God -- rules of law are accessories only. When rule of law tries to force on us a situation where we cannot shun such things by the rules of God, something's been reversed!

To h**l with legalities! Just say NO and let them enforce it. How dare any judge rule in this manner. There is NO law that can require a person to behave immorally.

This is appalling. The kids become experts on homosexuality but are unable to read, write or do sums. I am now comforted that Maryland’s high school drop outs are skilled in something.

No, those entities *used* to be answerable to the people of Maryland, and some effort is still expended to give the illusion that public sentiment is respected but make no mistake, it is not.

"It must bend to the State's duty to educate its citizens."

Indoctrination for all! Long live the king! I mean the state! I mean our rulers! This may be MD but it could be anywhere and will be eventually. Not to mention with this kind of state mindset it can and will bleed over into all kinds of "education". This country has lost it's mind. It's way and it's very foundation.

“Note that the phrasing indicates that there are other well-known “inalienable rights,” which certainly include the right to bring up one’s own children.”

It’s pretty scary how these rights are slowly being vested in the state as opposed to parents. I’m amazed there isn’t more outcry.

At what point will citizens say that government has become too uppity and move to reassert control of their leviathan? If this fails they can only move out of the state, and leave it to people who approve of its moral course.

Never happen. You do realize that such an amendment would place much of Shakespeare, Nabakov, Wolfe, Metalious, Miller, Hemmingway and more greats than I can name firmly in the obscene category? No thanks. Pedal facism elsewhere.

“Apparently the people have failed in their duty to educate the state. We need to correct that.”
**********************************************

Exactly!!! The reason these secularist/perverted creeps have been able to get away with this crap is because nobody among “the people” (”demos”) wants to move out of their “politically correct comfort zone” and rock the boat.

Here are some Civics Lessons that can be used by “the people” a.k.a. “the government/state” to educate the self-appointed social engineer Stalinist/socialist tyrants who falsely call themselves “the state” that government here in the United States of America is “of the people, by the people and for the people.” These critters need to be reminded that they serve at the pleasure of the people whose taxes pay their salaries, and since it is AXIOMATIC that the family (Man-Woman-Children) is prior to the state and NOT the other way around, it is the State that needs to bend to the will of the people or get out!

Lesson #1: NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION

Lesson #2: DEMONSTRATE!!! TAKE IT TO THE STREETS!!!

Lesson #3: BOYCOTT PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

Lesson #4: CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE....JUST LIKE GAY ACTIVISTS... CALLED FIGHTING FIRE WITH FIRE!

The people of Maryland might want to review the David Parker case. The example of David Parker of Lexington Massachusetts could become the public-school-education-vs.- parental-rights equivalent of “the shot heard ‘round the world!”

http://www.massresistance.org/docs/parker/index.html

http://www.republicanvoices.org/parker_rally.html#

In the following article, the illustrious Judge Wolf (who is also paid with taxpayer dollars)callously suggests that since the Parkers and others who complained CHOSE to send their kids to public school instead of sending them to private school or homeschooling them, then they had no right to complain about the curriculum.

My response to that is “Fine, Judge! Then order a refund to the Parkers et al of whatever portion of their tax dollars they are being FORCED to pay in order to fund these schools of scandal and perversion. In some communities, non-residents often have to pay tuition in order for their children to be allowed to attend public schools there. This could be used as a guideline for tax refunds.

http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2007/02/24/same_sex_teaching_upheld/

People need to understand that David Parker was not demanding that the school not be allowed to peddle it’s perverted “diversity” rag. All he wanted was to be notified so that he could opt his Kindergarten kid out whenever they peddled it. If ever there were an argument in favor of school vouchers, the David Parker case is it.

In fact, Parker could very well qualify as school voucher Poster Boy!

I think that is a drastic overstatement. Such an amendment could be crafted to forbid the government promotion of obscenity. It would in no way require the censorship of any of such works you mentioned. It would merely draw a clear line. This country survived just fine for most of its history with such a clear line where obscenity was concerned. It is a relative recent development that the First amendment has been reinterpreted to cover things that were never ever thought to be protected speech. What would be lost? Nothing, not a bit of freedom of normal people would be taken away. Kids could play, people could make a honest living and society would be a bit nicer for everyone.
I never do understand this great fear when it comes to people getting their dose of sexual fetish. I have my own sexual interests but I would never place my personal desire to indulge in sexual fantasies above the general well being of society as a whole.

I know such an amendment is unlikely (people are too confused about freedom of speech and sex to even understand the benefit of such a thing) but I do believe that state oriented bans on teaching homosexuality and other forms of obscene material to kids could succeed. The problem is that without a clear definition of obscenity at a constitutional level it makes the fight all the harder. Most people do not want their kids exposed to such material but liberal school boards are over riding the opinions of parents as if teaching such perversion is an essential as reading and writing. I believe that teachers have no business in molesting the minds of confused young kids to suit a political agenda.

Regardless of how we arrive at a solution there is no question that there needs to be a strong push back against the deviancy that is being promoted to young people. It is fueling a dangerous predatory behavior in young men that is landing many in jail and producing many broken homes with greater numbers of single mothers and irresponsible fathers. Homosexual experimentation among young women used to be very rare, now it is become a right of passage at many schools.

We are leaving our children to a path to chaos and personal destruction all so we can indulge in our kicks and feel tolerant and wrap our bad behavior in the flag because we are afraid to be righteous in the face of liberalism.
I’m tired of false solutions. I’m tired of playing the game with liberals who have stacked the deck. As for fascism I doubt you even understand what the word means.

Yeah but it is amusing to hear people who don’t understand the bill of rights nor the limits of the First Amendment scream about how suggesting such a thing is fascist. If they’d bother to research history they’d quickly find that many of their wonderful perversions of necessity were forbidden by law during and after the first amendment was ratified. I think that in the long run we have to have some limit on the government meddling in the sex lives of young kids whether it is ratifying parental rights in the constitution or something more radical. If we don’t the hoards will continue to chip away and slowly but surely reshape the minds of the populace to the destruction of the America we all love.

That said I never did understand the problem such well educated judges seem to have with defining obscenity. It is best defined by what it is not.
