Before the Maxim gun, battles were often won with men skilled in marksmanship.
Obama has the equivalent of the Maxim gun in his ability to counter skilled and profound political punditry with irresistible fully automatic projectile populist pleasant sounding smoking chunks of dung beetle bait.

Actually, the way the Amendment is worded, Clinton COULD run for a third term, just as long as it wasn’t consecutive with the other two terms, correct?

No, the key discriminator being "run". The 22nd Amendment sets the limit at two elections and he has already run twice. The loophole that folks are thinking of is that if he is appointed for the remaining two years then he is in compliance with the 22nd's implicit 10 year limit. I daresay the intent for those 10 years was a veep who stepped into office unexpectedly and then ran for their two full terms. But there is no language that gives the order. The 12th Amendment is in play since the veep must be eligible to serve as president (its last sentence).

Time is of the essence if that is the RAT's plan as the 22nd Amendment calls for the appointment of veep to be confirmed by a majority of BOTH the House and the Senate. It would not get past the Boehner House so the sand on that gambit's hourglass runs out Jan 3rd. Even if it was tried in the next few days with the current RAT majorities, there might be enough patriots to go with the Washington precedent and not ratify Bill. They'd do Hillary in a heartbeat, though.

No, not correct. Limited to two terms...period.

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

That Obama is a nitwit of little backbone is a given but the Republicans with their weak compromise of meeting in the middle are about in the same class.

A group of people cannot push over a pushover?

Puhlease...

I’ve seen Bubba in person twice since he left office and I can tell you he is one hell of a salesman.

I loved watching him take over. He is clearly more learned about almost anything and BO demonstrates daily he can’t talk about anything because he doesn’t know anything.

Don’t blame Obama, blame the morons who voted the idiot into office. They are the real shame of this country..

I agree. I know some people - not necessarily liberals - who couldn't wait to tell everyone they voted for a Black man for president just because it was 'historic' and let's be honest, made them feel good about their devotion to 'fairness' and the joys of 'diversity'. Few cared about his lack of substantive accomplishment, his murky past associations with flaming radical leftists (Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, et al.) and his now-revealing speeches about 'transforming America' and so on. The man was clearly unqualified and transparently leftist but the Democrats used media cheer-leading and endless puff pieces about Obama and his family, coupled with voter apathy and a weak Republican candidate that the media helped promote. Add in the predictable Democrat vote-stealing that we now take for granted and...voilà!... we have an incompetent, America-hating, hard-line leftist president intent on pushing destructive policies that won't work and will do the country and it's people great harm in many ways. Yes, Americans are catching on to Obama's socialist bent and incompetence and reject all of it but what good does it do us, now? We're still stuck with Obama and his power for another two years. I'm optimistic but still wary that the new Republican-dominated congress won't fold as they often do when push comes to shove with the president. We'll soon find out.

It took putting Obama in office to know he’s a schukin’ ‘n’, jiving pimpin’ ‘n’ stylin’, responsibility-avoiding, blame-,assigning, lyin’ lazy-ass, trash-talkin’, swamp-runnin’ Marxist weasel? I knew this two years ago.

It wasn't really a serious inquiry - more of a joke question. I think it's hilarious that Obama sticks Clinton out there and then runs away - the idea of Clinton running against Obama struck me funny.

Politics in general, especially lately, and the Democratic party in particular seem often like the theater of the absurd.
