The majority of FReepers are reading articles in the main news forum, *not* hanging out in the blogger section.
That’s one of the major short comings in that you can’t pick and choose which forums. It’s either all or one. I prefer to view FR from the Lastest Post/Comments page but you either can get one forum or all but not inbetween.
I think it was my character that the kook was trying to demean, so assessment was not quite the word, but whatever.

When I land on a thread with a blog pimp posting a teaser, I’ll roll my mouse pointer over the link and if it looks suspicious, I’ll pass.
Sometimes, though, the link won’t have the obvious “whatever.blogspot” in the URL and I’ll find myself on their page, after which, I spend 2 minutes running Abine’s site security program to block the malware crap on the site and then another few deleting all the malware crap their site deposited on my machine.
Then, about once a day, I have to actually go into the system and scan for other garbage and delete that, too.
Case in point, one crap-fest blog site ‘harvested’ one of my personal email addresses [which means it was able to access my personal system files] and now that email inbox is a trash repository, of which my malware software constantly alerts me of ‘phishing attempts’ coming in.
That site, along with a plethora of trackers, beacons and adware, left _81 cookies_ on my laptop.
That is so far over the top it’s not even funny.
And then, if I want my blood pressure really jacked up, I go look at my hardware firewall’s security logs.
Ugh.
I am fed up with having to deal with intentional malfeasance just because somebody wants pay-per-click hits.
Tell where I am “wrong” on that issue.
For every person like me who is -aware- of what’s happening to their system [and possibly, information security] while they’re visiting a blog, there are a thousand who are *not*.
Shall I shut up while they walk unknowingly into possible real life misery?
