Makes you wonder who is funding that company. It would take a lot of cash to cover the guaranteed losses in the short/medium run until the market turns around and you can make a profit.

I’ve thought for a couple of years now that I believe the plan is to have a lot of the forclosed homes become government property, so the government can “assign” them to “needy” people like they do in the UK. Being able to assign nicer accommodations to people is a great way for politicians and government workers to grant favors to people when they need to.

I don’t buy it—He doesn’t have the power he once did. People are getting fed up with His Highness and his Queen. He may well try but I don’t think its going to happen.

If baraq is able to do this through the two F’s, the feds will own 1/2 of the homes. Since they own them, then can decide who will live in those homes. If they want those homes for emminant domain ala Kelo, well they can just come and take it.

I reached a point where I don’t quite trust anything which Obama proposes to do.

Welcome to Enlightenment.

Many of us came to that realization before The Won was elected.

Many, even some here, have not yet reached that realization.

I’m dumfounded. I suspected this was going on; but I’ve not had the time to keep up with the details of the plan unfolding. We sold our house in the city some time ago; I’m paying off the refuge in the country next year.

My first thought. Section 8 coming to your neighborhood soon.

How soon before the government decides you have too much house?

We already have squatters moving into OCCUPIED non foreclosed homes.

My sister's lived in England for the past 35 years or so. It seems that most of the people she knows there live in "council" provided housing. It's normal over there to be jockeying around on waiting lists to get bumped up to bigger/nicer houses. It's a great way for all the local governments to control the population.

I can definately see why Obama would see this sort of thing as desirable... all Dems would love this too. They love to have that sort of control over people.

Uh, how can squatters move into OCCUPIED non-foreclosed homes? Wouldn’t the occupants either throw them out or lock them out??????

I’m not too worried about that; the population of the entire county is only 1,500 people.

Wish I was younger and had a few investor friends. House flippers had a great run and a solid idea. Take a wreck and make it work. Watch ‘Income Property’ on HGTV. Rental property is a the new, good investment - many single, working people are competing with former home owners for living space. Rents are rising faster than foreclosures.

This housing crisis will resolve itself - without government interference - the root cause of the problem.

Government managed housing has ONLY led to disaster, may that be in Scandinavia, Germany, even here in the US where they have played with “rent control.”

Obama has no new or original ideas. It's ALL a mix of late 70s American ultra liberalism (abortion, housing, military disengagement, the focus on nukes, national health care, government top down economic stimulus as well as the “fine tuned economy...”) with a mix of Afrocentrism, that's it. Unless you think Obama walks as he does because of some combat injury from catching Osama, that's a pimp limp.

If reelected, he will only get worse and I assure you, most of these bills are written already (they only polish them off and some politicians picks them up and runs with them after some event pops up). With Obama it's all about getting reelected and once that happens things like the “right to bear arms” will be addressed the way health care was. Now is just not the right time so no one wants to take the dozen or so gun laws floating out there and run with them.

“Thus far, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have received over $382 billion in taxpayer assistance and have not repaid a cent (almost 40% of all Federal Stimulus if you were wondering).”

“stimulus”. What a joke.

Which government official recently proposed burning down “excess inventory” of housing to reduce the bubble?

Actually I should have said we are in in economic abyss but chose to make the point about the market foretelling the end of this monster’s reign instead.
