He may very well be the nominee, and he may very well beat Obama. I think both are likely, especially the first. But it's premature to talk about "closing ranks." How about, he needs to win the nomination first?
Let me modify the statement by the OP.
“If Romney get the nomination, then it will be time to close ranks and get behind Romney”.
If the answer is still Negative, then please be ready to accept another 4 years of Obama,(and another 4 years of Obama possibly appointing more judges to the Supreme Court and to lower courts.

We can stop him in Congress. Our military is giving him good advice. We may survive O2. But Mitt is a project manager, not a visionary. He’ll want to appease Dems to enable everyone to get along. Of course the Dems want what he did in Mass done on a national basis. If they get Mitt to get it done for them, its as if they won, isn’t it?
We can beat O on what we know he will do. Stymie him in Congress.. But if Mitt has a GOP controlled House he can have the same power to encroach the 2A and introduce state sponsored compulsary health care systems as in Mass.
So too the thread will be locked with Romney at the GOP nomination accepting the nomination.
FR will presumably then be in the Obama camp.
