If Romney gets my vote, it'll be solely because a first-term liberal is less dangerous to the nation than a lame-duck Marxist. And because I don't see much evidence that Mitt loathes this country like Obama does. In other words, it'd be a step back from the brink - but that's all. No major change in the direction we're headed.
And with regard to that "our own" bit, I'd not be under the misapprehension that Mitt is "ours".
I understand your sentiment, but it is misplaced. The Romney thing isn’t about politics. Politics is very closely tied to personality types. Any candidate that can pull votes from the middle will never satisfy the fringe. This happens in every election.
Some personality types are always looking to lose. I see them in business and in social life as well as in voting preferences.
They think everything in the world should be about them, and when faced with facts to the contrary they react as you have seen.
When the time comes, some will quietly vote for Romney while claiming they didn’t. Others won’t. They are the ones who never vote anyway.
There are over 60 million voters who sit out each national election. The ones with the personality problems are a small part of this number. Most non-voters are simply apolitical. The grousers are a tiny fraction of that number.
But you’ll notice they insist upon they are living their ‘principles’, which is code for “I’m more important than you.”
They have my pity, I don’t get mad at them. Like the poor, they will always be around, and miserable.
No, it’s a false dichotomy to say the choice is between two forms of death.
Leonard made the point that to allow Obama to win is certain death, but the certainty is not there if he loses.
You quit too soon. We all lose, Conservatives lose.
Tell me, would you have joined a bunch of slave owners in 1775?
I think too early. SO long as Romney doesn’t have the nomination wrapped up, nobody really wants to consider the next phase. Newt is still theoretically in the race.
And I’d never expect people here to be happy about that outcome, if Gingrich doesn’t win. I think the best to hope for is that blatant falsehoods are not perpetuated, and that truth is always welcomed, even if it is undesirable.
If Romney is our nominee, that will be the time to discuss what he has promised, what he needs to be held accountable for, and I guess for some to argue that the country can’t survive Obama.
As I’ve never told anybody else how to vote, even when I have advocated for a particular candidate, I don’t expect that to change for me. I’ll be happy to explain why I’m voting a particular way (to whatever extent we will be allowed to do so if we are voting for the “wrong” person), and to argue that sitting out the election is a bad choice, but I’m not going to attack people who personally choose not to cast a vote for a candidate they do not support.
When Conservatives decide not to vote for Republican candidates, Republicans still lose. Conservatives lose. The Democrats, socialists, and atheists win. Obama wins.
Death is certain if Mittens the RINO prince reigns.
If this is my FR swan song, my opus, so be it. That’s not my intention.

Baloney. You’ve been itching for a zot for some time. Maybe Jim will scratch that itch today. Maybe not.
But you will some day soon Ride the Lightning.
I don’t see how you can call yourself pro-life and be urging us to jump on the Mitt Romney bandwagon. Care to explain.
I’m trying not to get mad, or at least not to post mad.
Do not call me a liar, please.
A good friend likened our attempts to a lifeboat. We make trip after trip with our leaky boat, to save those we can.
Our boat is being sunk by Obama’s regulations and Holder’s refusal to defend the law.
That’s good, getting mad is a waste of time. You must understand where these people are coming from. They think they are doing the right thing.
Chasing them or trying to placate them a waste of time too. They wouldn’t be happy with anyone capable of actually winning the nomination or the election so it really doesn’t matter.
I’m not advocating that anyone “ jump on the Romney bandwagon.”
Half of the delegates aren’t chosen yet. I’m asking for less anti-Republican rants, more work to turn the tide.
You didn’t answer the question. So are you pro-choice or pro-life? We know Mitt Romney is pro-choice.
I’ve changed my mind a few times in the past, so I think others can, too. No one is hopeless.
I know we can support the quiet ones who fear to speak up, and I do believe we can change the votes in the remaining primaries.
On day of the General Election, I will have to pick either the Republican or the Democrat nominee to be whom I would rather make the next Supreme Court Justice selection. These SCOTUS Justices are appointed FOR LIFE, and they either destroy or protect my liberty by what are often narrow votes. The choice will be a no-brainer regardless of who is running against the current man that currently occupies the office of the POTUS.
McCain isn’t Romney. One is a sometimes adle brained old goof and the other a 24x7 liar democrat. ORomney’s track record is clear to anyone willing to see it. It seems tho most republicans prefer their own brand of tyranny. Well, OK then vote for the guy but you won’t like the outcome. I recall all manner of cheering for Scoot Brown. Now its all grousing. It was clear from the get go he wasn’t a republican...
