Christian’s sin and it is not our place to question one’s salvation. Also, all sin is equal in God’s eyes, so the “little” sin is equal to the “big” sin; the thing that makes the difference is conviction and repentance.
Long story short, yes a Christian can be a Democrat, or at least vote for one (or a RINO, or Romney,or whomever); making a mistake. Now do I think the life long fruits of Liberals and Democrats bear witness to a God honoring lifestyle; not by a long shot.
Full disclosure; I am a Christian; going on 5 years, and I sin daily; sometimes knowingly. My lifestyle is not always God honoring. I am a hypocrite in God’s eyes; and for this I am convicted daily. I couldn’t wake up,get out of bed, and go through my daily life without His grace, and for that I am grateful.
Your attitude is correct but Christians who stay Democrats with the current state of the party are in a state of outright rebellion and abuse God’s grace. If they have a sensitive consience they would leave that party.
FYI I have been a Christian for 33 years.
Not since they substitute government for charity and abandon all pro-life, pro-family policies.
Obama could not have won in 2008 without the evangelical vote and the Catholic vote.
I remember the day my Grandfather, a lifelong loyal Democrat and quite active in the local party, came to this conclusion.
I walked into his kitchen and saw him sitting there, pale as a ghost, with a number of empty beer bottles strewn across the table. I asked what was wrong and he told me that he had come to the conclusion that this Carter guy had screwed-up the country so badly with the foreign policy weakness, the welfare, the abortions and general moral decline...that he had no choice but to vote for this Reagan fellow.
Any like-minded Democrat with a conscience came to this same conclusion years ago, and is now either an Independent or a Republican.

I believe that a person can be a Christian and a Democrat. Just because a person is a Democrat doesn't mean that her or she agrees with every platform item.

True Christians do not support Democrats or Democrat policies. This applies to all true Christians, Protestant or Roman Catholic. I suggest that those who support Democrats do not have any comprehension of what the Bible, the Word of God, teaches.
