Well I’m glad to hear you moderate your original assertion about targeting others. You will live a lot longer.

Guys like you are exactly why guys like me would patrol to remove anything that doesn’t belong in the area. We know there will be plenty of takers, and since this is a takers vs makers issue in the first place, we ain’t letting the takers take what’s left.

“The Founding Fathers weren’t as outgunned as the people today.”

The founding fathers didn’t have enough bullets and guns to kill every colonists, but we have enough hardware to kill every person on the planet. Seems we have far more than they had.

“Seriously the population neither has the onions or the temerity to fight like our founding fathers did.”

You obviously don’t. You’re an admitted Taker. So much for you surviving anything.

WATER! WATER! WATER! Little do many people realize how important water is. The will have cases of ammo, a dozen guns, ten years of food and not one drop of water and not any way except for maybe boiling to clean some. Boiling fine, but what if the there are solid pollutants and of things that boiling doesn’t remove? Boiling is also very energy intensive, and time consuming. As for me I have a Big Berkey, a portable Katadyn, Berkey Portable Water Filter with Sport Bottles and a couple of pounds of calcium hypochlorite.

About 3 million people die each year of waterborne diseases each year around the world you can expect during SHTF situation power out situation that most local water will soon be contaminated. And people being people will especially in summer will flock to many sources of water and will add to the contamination.

If it gets that bad there will be no rules anyway.

Actually there will be rules. They will be very old and basic rules.

The first one will be to get rid of all predators no matter who they are preying on. You wouldn't allow a rabid coyote to run around your neighborhood and you can't allow the human equivalent to roam near you either.

Just hope that all you get is a bullet to the skull. Remember what I said about old and basic rules? Making a public example of someone is one of those old rules.

You are exactly the type of vermin that we well trained sheepdog type veterans, and conservatives, will be hunting down and eliminating.

Ditto.

“...that will more than likely never happen or happen after I am gone or too old to care.”

How old do you have to be to be too old to care?

Also, I see you live in Texas as I do. Even liberals have guns in Texas so planning to take what they have is not a good idea.

Maybe you could take from these “too old to care” people. I am really old but you wouldn't live to get through my door or window as I “still care”. I've said before, people like you are choosing “suicide by prepper”.

A conservative normally takes responsibility for him/her self and family. I'm sorry you would take from other people as that is more a trait of liberals who feel entitled to take from others.

“I have a Big Berkey, a portable Katadyn, Berkey Portable Water Filter with Sport Bottles and a couple of pounds of calcium hypochlorite.”

I also have a Big Berkey and through the years I forgot how many siphon Katadyns I had until I found them where I stashed them and I have three, will never run out of good water with the Berkey and all those Katadyns, plus I have the Berkey Sport Bottle. I don't have any calcium hypochlorite if that is the name of it. There is a swimming pool in my townhouse group, it's about 25-30 yds. from my house so I would bet that chemical is in the pool house.

I would get that chemical at Walmart or Lowes but I'm never sure of exactly the name of it. I don't need it, but I might give some of it to someone if they needed it, and, it's another backup.

A lot of pools these days have salt system chlorine generators, and don’t use much in the way of pool chemicals.

I know our pool here was completely re-done a few years ago and I have no idea how it works.

Resolute Conservative:
I will take whatever I want from those that have chosen not to honor the 2nd amendment.

RC seems to have a rather crass way of putting it, but what does everyone have against battlefield recovery? (At least, that's what I'm understanding here). He hasn't said that he'll waltz into the local WalMart and taker over the produce section. He basically said that he will re-utilize equipment that was once used by those on the other side, and believe me, if SHTF, there will be many of them.

Flame away, folks!

No flame, but battle field recovery is one thing, out right murder and thief is another. In the end you have to live with what you did and what it does to you and of course someday you will have to answer for all your actions.

That sounds to me like he will steal from anybody who has stuff but isn't armed. It sounds like the "false bravado" more often heard from a young drunk in a dive bar. LOL, if he stumbles onto my property with bad intentions because he wrongly believes I am unarmed...

Well, anyway, if that poster truly believes what he posted, he won't last too long in the chaos after the SHTF.

That isn’t what he said, he said that in an emergency here in America, that he will become a killer/looter and take what he wants from my fellow Americans.

We all know that those weak, criminal types exist, we just don’t expect to see them among conservatives and Christians on a conservative site.

I doubt that I will take a bullet anywhere. Years as a firearms instructor in the military and civilian world has made one thing evident, most people shoot targets really well but cannot hit a barn when it counts.

Some people here talk a big game and spout self-righteous quips. When it gets down to it and your family needs basic items and your stash has run dry you will do what is necessary for your loved ones to make it. If you won’t then you are a loser and too bad for them. You can prep for a short to moderate breakdown but in the case of a long term event nobody outside the special chosen few of the federal government have the resources to maintain supplies that will last over a year. I make no assumptions that anyone else would not do the same in desperate times.
