Not the way I understand it.
Autistics have trouble relating to "people" they CAN function well doing many other things but they tend to obsess on certain everyday functions or issues.
I used to know a local boy who was moderately autistic but he had to have a "NEW" copy of a certain movie every so often and he watched it constantly AND it had to be VHS no DVDs. He even could do things on the computer.
Webcams are standard equipment on laptops.
Skype. My daughter and her circle of friends use it constantly for chats. However ALL of them use a piece of tape to cover the Camera when they aren't using it.
This is not something I made her do. She knew about the issue long ago and they all (her friends as well) are very obsessive about covering that camera when they don't Skype.
I noticed all of them had tape on their computers and asked why and they were very serious about the issue.
I still think it takes more training and effort than simply typing randomly on a keyboard to be able to hack into a computer. Even with typical "script-kiddie" proggies, you still need to have at least minimal smarts to locate and then run them properly.
Heck, just attempting to figure out how utilize torrent files are a challenge.
Autism isn't a one size fits all prospect.
Some with autism can drive cars hold down a job etc.
Others are totally immersed in their own world and rarely do anything except the most mundane functions.
This guy Could be autistic or maybe suffer from Asperger's Syndrome or just some asswipe trying to get out of being caught.
Not like some adults. I still remember a friend who was working in Customer Service mentioning (early nineties?) a customer calling in and requesting a replacement for the built-in coffeecup-holder in his computer. You know; the one where you pressed this little rectangular button on and a little tray slid out with indentations where the coffee cup should sit.
Probably some moron in Sales. They all seem to have that sell-you-anything attitude.
My guess is the third possibility you mentioned.
I was speaking of built-in webcams, like they install on most laptops nowadays. Sorry if I didn’t make that clear.
Occam’s Razor would seem to point to that but I am sure there are a horde of lawyers who can drag out all manner of “doctor\s” that will attest to the little freak being disabled in some way or another. Depends on how much cash “Daddy” has.
Webcams are built into many (most?) modern laptops.
