This is in the Democrat primary, right?
What else could it be?

What this highlights is that conservatives should stop trashing each other or we’re gonna end up with a candidate such as Christie.

Agreed. One candidate needs to emerge early in the process.

Jerry Brown, urged to run for president, won't rule out 2016 bid "If he werent the nations oldest governor, a ripe 75, Jerry Brown would automatically be counted among serious Democratic candidates for president in 2016.
He boasts a household name, an impressive list of accomplishments in the countrys most populous state a state some once deemed ungovernable glowing national media coverage and a deep familiarity with the pitfalls and rigors of a White House bid, having run three times before.
Now, some are pushing Brown to consider another try for the White House, even if it means taking on Hillary Rodham Clinton, the prohibitive, if still undeclared, Democratic favorite.
I think Jerry is precisely what America needs, said Rose Ann DeMoro, the leader of a national nurses union and a strong political ally of Brown. He has the courage of his convictions, which we havent seen in a very long while...........

For the Dem nomination?
I will not vote for Christie. No more RINO’s.
Let the “then you want (fill in the blank) to win” flamers flame away. That screed is tiresome.

Also, about this time in 2009, polls showed Romney (the candidate preferred by Dims) leading by about 4%. In 2005, they showed McCain (their choice again) up by 5. The early polls are used to project who they think they can beat as the only hope for the GOP.
