Seen this movie a few times before.
It doesn’t end well.
NO.
Finny, I wish I could be more optimistic, but I think we’re going to have the same civil war here three years from now as we had in 2012. The GOP-E will stop at nothing to get either Christie or Jeb Bush nominated and we’re going to have the same old arguments all over again.
The only way to stop it is to get behind ONE conservative candidate and back that person to the end.
Also, you’re quite right — you don’t vote against anyone. There’s no place on the scorecard for that. It’s only votes “for”.
Ted Cruz had it right during the Obama/Reid shutdown. If you vote for a budget bill that funds Obamacare, you support Obamacare because that’s what you voted for. If you vote for an elitist Republican, that’s what you support because you voted for them. Votes, like words, MEAN THINGS.
Good luck with that. There are still some on here pushing Santorum since the last election. You will never herd these cats into backing one candidate.
It won’t be easy. We went from the Rudy McRomney wars in 2008 to what we saw in 2012. Full disclosure, I was a Santorum man after the field thinned down in 2012 but I think he should step back now.
I’d really like to see someone like ... say ... Ted Cruz make his intentions known early, if he has them. Give the Tea Party time to coalesce and let the chips fall where they may.
If you are young or if you have kids, it’s impossible to admit. But, it doesn’t matter anymore.
We lost your Republic, Mr. Franklin.
