Liberals, being the intellectuals they are, talk above the heads of the average voter.
LOL I see the so called "Layman" conservatives manhandling progressive talking points all over twitter every day.

“Progressives Dont Dumb Things Down for Public Consumption, Hence Midterm Loss”
This is sometimes referred to as “an appeal to sophistication”. Classic leftist reasoning trick.

They’ve been singing this lame song for the last thirty years. Democrats always talk about how they’re the intelligent party, and all the stupid people are Republican, but whenever the Democrat party needs votes, where do they look? The welfare office, the unemployment office, they try to register felons, or make voting easy enough for people too stupid to know how to get a photo ID or fill out a registration card. They scan the nation looking for morons and shuffle them into the voting booth, confident that the idiots will vote for the Democrats.
This doesn’t work on the internet, because they just google an answer, but in your real life, when some liberal starts talking about how dumb Republicans are, ask them some simple political, historical or current event questions. Ask them who the president of Mexico is, ask them to define quantitative easing, ask the to discuss the effects of the Kelo decision. Invariably, they will stand there with their mouths open but silent because they don’t know a damn thing about anything.
Instead of knowledge they fill their heads with snark and bluster.

So he’s saying that they forgot how to communicate with their low-info voter flock?

Interpretation [for those who are too stupid to understand what Mr. Madison said]:
Except for the Liberals, our Democrat voters are too stupid to understand what Liberals say.
[Didn't Mary Landreau say something similar in Louisiana a couple of weeks ago?]

Oh, he knows that only the intelligentsia watch the show or even care, so, this is not a problem.
Basically, a fine display of the loathing and contempt that the Dems have for the “little people”.

Then, there is the illustrious Rep. Hank Johnson who feared stationing 8,000 Marines on Guam could cause the isle to “become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.”

[Wow. Rep. Johnson actually said that. I don’t think he would qualify as one of the intellectuals Mr. Madison references.]

Our voters are mentally on the same level as goats. That insult to goats was totally uncalled for.
