This is a dumb question, but what exactly are military schools? Are they actually connected to the US Armed Forces in someway?
The liberals are petrified of Trump. Expect lot more hit pieces all the way until Tuesday November 1, 2016.
Also scared are are GOP pundits, GOP Advisers (Karl Rove etc) making a great living. Because Trump employs very few advisers.
“No, Mr. Trumpgoing to Military School is NOT the same as being in the service.”
Actually, it kind of is...
Navy Vet.
In the sense that you learn discipline, teamwork, and dedication to the whole, rather than self going to a military school teaches similar foundations.
That said, when you attend a military college you don’t get shot at. And you are a million times likely to be killed by a drunk driver than an IED.
And wearing the uniforms is spiffy.
That movie came out between my Junior and Senior years at Norwich.
We had a good chuckle over it.
He went to a military high school. They are several splattered around PA or Va for example.
There are several major college schools which are not affiliated with a single service. They are Norwich, Citdel, VMI, and Texas A&M. There are also Maritime schools such as Mass Maritime and Maine Maritime.
For the colleges ROTC is sometimes built into the curriculum.
The Citadel.
Sorry for the misspelling.
I still know what to do about a sucking chest wound.
Call me if you need me.
And they are better written and more fun to read :-)
“That said, when you attend a military college you dont get shot at. And you are a million times likely to be killed by a drunk driver than an IED.”
I went to Navy boot camp in the fall of ‘62, and served 4 years in school and on ships.
Never once did I get shot at...
And. I have a 30% disability from my service.
I got shot t once in college. But they weren’t aiming at me, so I guess it doesn’t count. Still scared the hell out of me.
But Trump will get jobs for the Vets Obama fired from the military, Trump will get them the medical care Obama hasn’t.
No he isn’t IKE, but he is just as comfortable on the golf course, and is a very quick learner.
“He arrived at the military academy where tuition now reaches $31,000 a year for eighth grade in 1959 and remained for high school.”
Interesting sentence. NYT uses 2015 dollar to illustrate how exclusive the school was in 1959.
That said, Comparing military school to the military was a stupid thing for Trump to do.
No excuse. And yes I am a Trump supporter.
Only a couple of them. Most are just private boarding schools that use a military style hierarchy in order to teach strict self-discipline and leadership. We can’t afford the 60,000 per year, or I would send my oldest son full time. He attends during the summer for one semester every year. Often, people associate military academy with troubled kids who are sent there for punishment. In reality, there are a few, but they are mostly kids with rich parents. Most of these places don’t turn out unskilled laborers or felons, it takes a lot of hard work to keep in the programs. Some schools are better than others, I’m sure. Our son was terrified his first year, I had to practically hog tie him to get him in the car for the 800 mile trip there. Now, all he wants is to go back, it’s all he talks about. It was tough and he learned he could do it, he learned how strong he could be when he had to. Parents can be a bad influence, and I’m no exception. It gives him a real perspective on the challenges of life, self-discipline, proper respect for authority and complete separation from x-box, TV, ipod and other bad influences of life. It is very demanding both physically and academically. And the war games... he lives for it. Especially the 4 team paintball drills. They have one every year that lasts for 72 hours straight, survive or finish the 3 day event doing PT.
No, we were not being shot at by the enemy, but
nevertheless, training is not inherently safe.
A dozen or so died in training units I was in over 6 years.
By drowning, vehicle roll-overs, and lightning strikes.
The military academy that Trump attended for five years is a very tough academy. Trump has often said the discipline instilled in him at the military academy is what made him the man he is today and he can’t imagine how his life might have turned out of he hadn’t attended.
