people are careless,,Glocks are a no nonsense weapon. If you want to hold, fondle, and play around with a gun, Glocks are not for you.

I’m interested in the replies. I’m kicking around purchasing something for the kid next Christmas; 1187 under the tree this year.
I was looking at 1911’s, Glocks and the HK VP9.

Pointless argument, shoot what you want. Both have pros and cons, claiming one or the other is "superior" is baseless. Glock's run out of the box, have a unique NPA, and a trigger that takes time and practice to get used to. 1911's have outstanding ergonomics, great triggers, inherent accuracy, hold less ammo, and (gasp) can take some work to get to run perfectly - despite the fact that your example is 100% reliable.
Looks are subjective, but both are tools, not wall hangings - cerakote and cocobolo won't win the gunfight. Ugly is as ugly does.

I prefer 1911 anytime, everytime.
Howevef, if I had to rely on Mattel, I need to remember to bring my aimpoint 3” to the right, as I tend to grab a Hasbro fully and fight the two stage shit trigger.
Did I mention I hate the two stage trigger POS?

I too never had problems with my Glock 19.
I objected to the 6” groups at 25 yards.
Always fired, never jammed.
Kimber 1911 always shoots < 2” groups at 25 yards if I do my job.
Both are quality firearms.

The 1911 is the most ergonomically perfect pistol ever conceived.
Unfortunately, it’s hundred year old technology lacking the firepower of even the most basic 9mm auto of similar size.
Glock is an AK47 revolver with a magazine. It can be effectively operated by a monkey with brain damage. It’s accurate, simple, fast, dependable, and ubiquitous.
If you’re shooting for pleasure, 1911. If you’re shooting to live, Glock.

Hudson is referencing the gun from Terminator lol, so really it’s the same gun, whether Terminator or Alien.
To: Greetings_Puny_Humans
That's a great gun for the big jobs, but for discreet carry I prefer Finger Gun, a two shot .22 caliber gun disguised inside a phony finger. You can see it in action in several Get Smart episodes, of course the drawbacks are, small caliber and only two round magazine.

Yes, indeed.
The best recommendation is that you try out each type at a range that rents both..
...most likely you’ll choose the 1911...

Ii’ll take a 1911 any day. If your cup of tea is a plastic gun then go for the Glock. I own many guns, but not one Glock so that is as much as I can say.

All the Glock needs is a real safety. A little tab on the trigger is not a safety.
