Romney is trying to set himself up as the white knight to save the GOP. He is positioning himself to be drafted.

Look for calls in the next few days for Romney to either enter the race, or to be the predesignated alternative. Rubio should be ticked, but he might be on board for a veep slot. Cruz will be thrown to the wolves.

My take: Romney is trying to run without running.

So the only reason we're not all flocking to the 'electable' Establishment GOPe candidate is because they haven't shown us the right Democrat-in-drag pile of soupy mush that looks great on TV but doesn't actually stand for anything in particular and will 'get things done' by continually capitulating to the ever-leftward veering Democrat Party.

Is that about right?

Of course he is. He was under a rock, and all of a sudden, he’s on the other side of that rock. Not a coincidence.

Romney is under pressure by the GOPe just like all the other politicians who have suddenly endorese Rubot.

What the GOPe is trying to do is convince Trump supporters that supporting Trump is futile. They are trying to convince us that they will do anything from changing the rules and brokering the convention to forming their own third party. They want us to go ahead and vote for their candidate, because we think any thing else isn’t going to happen.

Romney might actually be hoping for a brokered convention and to be drafted at it. But it’s not going to happen. Trump is going to go to the convention with enough support that there is really nothing the GOPe can do.

So the people running for the Republican nomination were required to sign a loyalty document promising to support the Republican nominee and not to start a 3rd party run. But it looks like Romney may be doing both.!

I think he's expecting a big uprising of people pleading for him to enter in the race. He's an idiot.

Romney pretty much said for voters to deny him individual states so he will not have the nomination on the first vote.

“Is Romney throwing his hat in the ring?”

No, he is throwing his hat into the outhouse pit.

... There’s something
I must say out loud
You’re once, twice
Three times a loser
Yes you’re once twice
Three times a loser ...

With apologies to The Commodores

Mitt Romney threw his hat in the toilet bowl. Along with his honor, his integrity, and last and certainly least, the Republican Party.

Go to hell, Mitt.

He may be...but it is all based on the ludicrous thought that they can get to a brokered convention.

It is not going to happen, They simply are incapable of getting it.

Trump (and for that matter, Cruz too) represents the conditions that they created over decades of lying to the people who elected them...over, and over, and over again.

The difference is that Trump is not viewed as a politician at all.

Now Trump is here, and there is not a damn thing they can do to stop the tsunami.

It’s going to wash them and all of their high minded BS away.

IMO, not many conservative delegates would vote for Romney in a brokered convention. He’s DOA.

Ain’t gonna happen. I think Trump is going to crash and burn but the Establishment should just let it happen. They can’t fix this. It’s inevitable.

Let him.

He would probably find as little interest as the 2008/2012 retreads found when they tried again this time.

What states would he take from Trump? Those voting for Trump are doing so primarily because Trump is an outsider. The former party nominee certainly cannot run as an outsider.

If so, what a lack of integrity.
