What is Powell’s status at this point? One look at this women’s pedigree would tell you she has no business anywhere near the Administration. The Ivanka/Jared team has has really caused a lot of problems. Many promises are “under review” instead of being implemented. My fear is the whistle blower (Bannon?) will be punished instead of Powell getting tossed

Research reveals ties to Obama Administration, particularly Valerie Jarrett, his advisor. Ivanka Trump reached out to her, because Ivanka was/is a Democrat, prior to Trump running. So, yes she is holdover from Obama Admin loyalty, and needs to go!

Powell is a Republican who worked for Dick Armey and GW Bush.
I wouldn’t trust her at all. But she is a Republican, not a Democrat.

Ivanka is liberal enough to be overflowing with poor judgment.
Powell isn’t really deep state- those are embeds in various agencies, names you’d never recognize.
What she is is a Bushie. More a citizen of the world than a nasty xenophobic nationalist like the evil Trumpers. She began her GOP career with Amnesty Dick Armey. There’s loads of red flags in her background that Ivanka could look directly at and never notice.
Ivanka is the one who brought her into the Trump admin.

She's also had her time at Goldman Sachs. And she's friends with Valerie Jarret. She does seem to be part of the glue that holds that uniparty that doesn't serve us together. Wouldn't that resume and her being brought forward to impress Ivanka indicate the Deep State up to no good? They're supposed to stay behind the scenes for sure, but it got all out of hand in the Obama administration and the very transparent intention to assure that either Jeb or hillary would be president.
I've said this before. If the traitors in the WH aren't hauled away in handcuffs before President Trump returns to DC, I don't have any confidence the coup can be stopped.
