I see no problem with putting King George III in that list. He did provide ample motivation for our Founding Fathers to rise up against his tyranny. Just read the Declaration of Independence where his crimes against the Colonies were enumerated.

I’ve got a little bone to pick.
The last few days I’ve noticed Antifa being pronounced An- ti’- fa . Accent on TI’. Should be on the ‘FA’.
Destroys the ‘ANTI’ portion of the name.

I think the author would agree with us but used his name more as an example than to equate him with the others. Actually, it is was smart thing to do for the benefit of those unable to use critical thinking.

George III was bat-shit crazy.

>><<

Not so much during the Revolution. After about 1805 he went downhill into insanity.

Soon after the end of the conflict George III called George Washington one of the greatest men in history.

Didn’t the European Whites leave Europe because, in part one religion, and two the Royal families, e.g., King(s). OMG, King we have to edradicate the name King... starting with Martin Luther King who represents both a religous and Royal nexus.

With the current & future state of education in this country, ON LINE schools may be the way to go. FAR fewer teachers-—break the union stranglehold they have....no bullying—kids are at home—hard to cheat on a test—have to do tests on computers...FAR cheaper for taxpayers.

I have no kids or grandkids. I sure would like a refund of all the SCHOOL taxes I have paid in my property taxes since 1966. Taxpayers have been royally cheated-—not many employable people are coming out of today’s schools.

You have the timeline, of King George III’ illness misplaced; not to mention the fact that he wasn’t anything at all like Hitler, Stalin, etc., even when ill later in life...long after the American Revolution was over and we were a nation!

Probably caused by the disease porphyria; however, he was NOT ill whilst we were still a Brit colony, during and after the Revolution, and when he was ill, he was replaced and his ghastly son, the then George, Prince of Wales, replaced him as Regent.

Perhaps; however, it’s a stretch, which sadly, even some here don’t understand.

LOL...that was a very good logical progression of thought!

Religion was a BIG part of it; getting away from kings was a smaller part of it and varied from country to country. You did leave out one group, though...those who were second sons, who would inherit nothing/those who were not from the Aristo class and wanted to own land/better themselves.

Yes, it’s absolutely a stretch. George III cannot be compared or equated with any of them.

Exactly!

And he wasn't an "absolute ruler"; unlike the actual tyrants/monsters he got thrown in with.

Perhaps I need to post some Brit history facts, to enlighten those whose educations are lacking. But that would probably be a waste of my time, since most people usually ignore my factual history posts; sadly.

As you probably know, over all, the American colonies enjoyed a higher standard of living than Great Britain. Of course there was more wealth in England but on balance, the colonies were better off.

Prime Minister Lord North and others were frustrated over the taxation and other things imposed upon the colonies because they knew it was detrimental and was going to be strongly opposed.

Please correct me if I got the standard of living between the UK and colonies wrong.

If you're talking about the years leading up to the Revolution, taking into consideration that the colonies had a far larger middle class, then yes, what you said is true and 100% factual.

And also, that is partly true based on the fact that the colonies didn't have the kind of nor the amount of slums, that Britain did.

The earliest Brit colonies struggled; however, Brit or other kind, the colonists not only managed to make a "go" of it all, they flourished! Just look at what we know about these colonies...the people were hard working, in several different fields of endeavor...even prior to the Industrial Revolution! Private boarding school were built, so were many colleges, cities grew and all kinds of different people ( can we say "DIVERSITY" ? LOL ),pulled themselves up by their bootstraps, to gain higher social strata. That didn't happen in England, where the class system held many back.

Thank you.

Great Britain and the United States have done more good for the world than any other countries.

Churchill did a remarkable job keeping the Commonwealth together before, during and after WW II.
