.40 S&W
.38 revolver
simplest to use, does not require two hands to operate
When I see a novice with a semi-auto, I get very nervous
A caliber sufficient to bring a 2nd shot on target quickly, and 3rd, and perhaps a 4th. Double-Double hammers...
My first CC piece was a.380 Bersa automatic, which I had to give up when the arthritis in my hands got so bad I could no longer rack or clean it.
I now carry a Taurus Ultra Lite .38 revolver, Both were chose for their butt size, as a small female my hands are quite small. My hubby’s 9mm Rugger butt is way to large for my hands.
A 410 Judge would take care of anything you should encounter
A revolver that will fit in your pocket, that can fire either 45 cal bullets or 410 shotgun shells.
A 410 loaded with shrapnel would take care of any situation.
My favorite revolver.
Just got a S&W M&P Shield Performance Center .45 modified with an Apex Trigger and Carry/Duty kit. Now has an extremely smooth trigger dropped to 5.5 lbs pull.
.38 Special +P
CCW
Winter Keltec PF9 JHP or S&W 642 .38spl JHP
Sring/Summer/Fall Keltec P32 FMJ or S&W 642 .38spl JHP’s
Open carry
Virginian Dragoon .44 Magnum 6 1/2 barrel JHP
I carried the Bulgarian version of this critter many years. In fact it is the only piece I ever had to pull on a goblin in 20 yrs of CCW. It did the trick, he stopped his advance and didn’t bat an eye or twitch a muscle. I egressed from the area without having to engage. In another few seconds it would have been on as I was about to verbally challenge and then engage. I hate ATM’s... Whew!
Years ago I was at the rifle part of the range and the yahoo next to me was firing off that beast...
The breeze coming off that thing almost blow my hat off !!!
He was putting a piece of cloth between his teeth so not to break his teeth from the recoil...
Last time I lit one off was 48 years ago in the Army.
Were I physically able to carry, I would primarily use .40S&W in a Star Firestar that I bought many years ago. It’s about the size of a .380.
If I was wearing a jacket, a Ron Power modified S&W 625-5, .45auto in full-moon clips.

“Aliens got that one”
I hate those aliens they got all of mine and my boats and my dog.
