I’d have done well either way, that’s for sure.

No doubt there are better rifles in 9mm and .45 cal but for the price; it really is hard to beat the Hi Point. If it’s something you will often then get one of the better and more expensive choices but for occasional use I’ll stick with my 9mm HP. I too keep hoping for a nice 25 or 30 rd mag at a reasonable price for it and the .45.

I haven’t checked on the ProMag yet. Anyone know if it’s any good?

I prefer the Thompson for a long arm .45 ACP.

I do too, but I'm not paying a premium price for the junk they're putting out these days.

I have one of the 45 ACP versions. It isn’t really hard to break down, once you figure out the instructions provided. It just seems strange, compared to every other firearm out there.

One of the very good things is that there is very little in the rifle to go wrong. The straight blowback action is very simple.

In fact, it is so simple that Hi-Point says that you should not clean the piece until after the first 1000 rounds. Unless, of course, you are going to store it long term, like over the winter months.

It’s a hi-point. You wanna take it apart, just shoot it.

Doesn’t everyone. But I cannot afford an original, and despite their high price the ones being made today seem like cheap imitations.

They’re not Glock or 1911 easy. After you do it a couple of times you get used to it.

Yep I’m hoping for a 45 Ruger carbine taking Glock mags too. I have a 45 HiPoint and it is a GREAT pcc for the money...ugly and low capacity but utterly reliable and accurate.

I bought a Hi Point 45 ACP about a year ago. I could take the "ugly" (it sure was that) but didn't like the weight or the restricted magazine capacity.

About three months ago I unloaded it and paid double for a TNW AREO PRECISION ASR 45 16.25 bbl

that takes Glock magazines. It now wears 25-rounders. Lighter as well. Much happier with it than with the Hi Point.
