Lifelock is kind of a scam anyway. And I’m sick of all of the scammy commercials on talkradio from overpriced gold to $3000 freeze dryers.

When I dive for the off button, it's usually for one of two reasons:

  1. Hannity is playing noxious sound bites.

  2. A Lifelock commercial. They're like little horror shows every few minutes.

Very true. I’m just dismayed that they have to sell such mediocre products to stay in business.

I have always felt the same way about those services and products... Add to that the ‘supplement and vitamin ‘ scams.. Never fell for any of that.

Life lock cannot prevent identity theft!

The founder has been victim of ID theft 13 times. It’s a marketing schtick.

Lifelock and monitoring your credit score must be the two biggest unnecessary scams ever.

I once did an internet search and found that I'm not the first person to wonder if Texas Superfood and Dynovite are the same thing. The commercials are in the same style and make equally sensational claims.

I can always tell what someone or some company thinks of me by the advertising they push on me.

Caveat emptor.

I ignore the commercials for the most part

For what it's worth, here's what Equifax sent me today. There are some good tips in it. I got their "TrustedID" service for free for a while for their huge security breach last year.

What is 3-Bureau Credit File Monitoring?
Your TrustedID Premier subscription provides 3-Bureau Credit Monitoring. This means we are monitoring your Equifax®, Experian® and TransUnion® credit reports for key changes, such as new accounts, inquiries, address changes and more.

What are Credit Monitoring Alerts?
As part of your TrustedID Premier product, we'll alert you of certain changes to your credit report. Changes that result in an alert include new accounts opened in your name, inquiries resulting from a company requesting a copy of your credit report, address change, bankruptcies and other public records, and some changes to current accounts.

Why are Credit Monitoring Alerts so important?
We keep you up-to-date so you don't have to keep reviewing your credit reports. If you've recently applied for a loan or credit card, you'll receive an alert and know that it is legitimate. On the flip side, if your alert shows something you don't recognize, you can act quickly to address it.

What should I do if I get an alert I am suspicious about?
If you find something suspicious within an alert, we recommend you take the following actions as soon as possible:

Astonishing stats in the press release you linked: “Digital safety is an estimated $10 billion market, and is projected to grow nearly 7 percent annually, as more than one-third of Americans and more than 650 million people globally were victims of cybercrime last year.”

$10 billion annually keeping the bad guys out of our computer systems and our lives...and, even with that, the bastards still get you!

“Norton is Symantec.”

And has been for 28 years now!

I only listen to Rush. I get his podcasts for $60 per year (or so) and they are blissfully commercial-free. Rarely will I tune in Hannity or Levin. Savage - NEVER. What an egotistical blowhard with the most incredible opinion of himself.

I want Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to publicly and loudly denounce Lifelock and drop them as advertizers. I’m sure there are other sponsors waiting to take their places.

Half a scam I would dare to say...they do provide a service, nevertheless except...who is checking on LIFELOCK to make sure that they do not overstep the boundaries of privacy and secrecy.

When you forward your information to LIFELOCK, you automatically forfeited your privacy rights.Period

I listen to Rush for at least 2 hours a day. I ignore the commercials. When Rush is over sometimes listen to Hannity. What annoys me about him is the first 10 minutes of the hour he plays the same sound bites over and over.

Will Rush drop them?

It's pretty stupid to deny an income source don't you think? Let the customers make that decision..........Sheesh!
