"...you have something to lose..."

Our comparative success is paradoxically our undoing just as you, Hot Tabasco, and other posters have shared.
That is why smelly hippie leftwingers do things like Occupy Wall Street without need for planning.
It is disconcerting if they continue the strategy of slowly increasing pressure on gunowners instead of making the same 1994 AWB blunder.

If it has a less than 16 inch bbl and a collapsible stock for a total fixed length of less than 26 inches, it would likely be a class 2 weapon, a short bbl’d rifle, SBR. If the stock is fixed at that short length, or is an arm brace type stock, it would be a pistol per ed law and most states. Probably all the above are illegal except for LE/govt types in NY, but all would be legal ( with a cl2 permit if an SBR) in my state, MO.

Actually, as I recall New York State Law requires that each handgun must be added to the owner's permit at purchase. That has to be on record, and accessible to the law enforcement. Are any of the handguns unlawfully possessed? If so, the owner knows the penalty.

And why are the airguns even mentioned in this context?

As far as the long guns are concerned, many of these might have become unlawful to possess, only by the preemptive recently passed, unless there was any grandfathering clause in the legislation. I don't believe there is any restriction on the number of guns a law-abiding citizen can own and keep.

It is grossly unfair that a collector should have to give up thousands of dollars worth of property because the laws were changed.

And where does this pejorative "looks like a Colt Light Machine Gun front end" come from? Gaaaah!
