The penalty for false accusation MUST be the same that the innocent man would have paid. NO exceptions.
Where’s ‘Mattress Girl’ Emma Sulkowicz?
I always remember what Ann Margaret said to John Forsythe in KITTEN WITH A WHIP.
“All I have to do is mess my hair and scream. One look at me and who would believe you!”
You forgot....
Sadly, she’s capitalizing on her “fame”....she is getting paid by fellow idiot Leftists who see her as an icon and an artist of some sort.
Left off the H.S. star running back who had a scholarship to USC when he was falsely accused.
That is exactly what should happen.
Don’t forget Jane Roe, of Roe vs. Wade! (Her real name was Norma McCorvey.) SHE LIED about being raped just to generate public sympathy for lax Federal abortion laws, and even tho the case was MOOT by then, (because she had already HAD the baby!) the BIASED US Extreme Court still found in her favor. Of course, she regretted it the rest of her life, became a Christian, and worked to STOP abortion till she died last November. Still, she is responsible for perhaps more deaths than Mao Zedong!
I know people in family law and they tell me this goes on all the time. The sad thing is that false accusations demean and hurt real victims.
Rape hoax is about power, not sex.
A longer list: A handy list of “believe the victim” cases where “the victim” was wrong

I don’t think the NYT would have bothered to report it if he hadn’t been a young black athlete.
The fact that the girl could appeal a not-guilty finding at the university when police wouldn’t take the case, AND he had no knowledge of the appeal, was so egregious even the NYT admitted that was unfair.
Vengeance. Anger. It doesn’t have to be “power”.
vs. 50,000 women who actually were raped
I think it should be treble damages. Triple the fine/confinement. If I do insider trading as a broker, and make 100k and get caught, I am fined 300k, do 3 years in prison, and lose my license.
False accusations should bear TRIPLE what the victim faces.
Its 10s of thousands wrongfully accused and the lying women are almost never prosecuted.
So you are ok with innocent men going to prisons for crimes they did not commit? Youd have a different attitude if you had a son who was wrongfully accused.
Ms Dunham is wrong; lying about rape in today’s culture is full of incentives to get rich.
Yes.
And you'd have a very different attitude if you had a family member brutally raped.
