My new favorite is Trail Life USA (traillifeusa.com)
They provide a world class Christ centered outdoor adventure program/ministry for boys.
Letting boys be boys, something sorely lacking in today’s feminized culture.
One of their core values is to be debt averse. They currently have no debt yet there are troops, almost 100% volunteer led in 49 states.
I believe the paid staff totals about 12 people. I know most of them and they are deeply committed to the youth of the program.
Besides compensation, there are other things to look at. 4% of income goes toward operations, 7% toward fundraising expenses. Both of those numbers are incredibly low.
Compensation costs for Graham are .001$ of total income.
Keep in mind, it’s a $600,000,000 global organization with operations in 100 countries. That’s a ton of responsibility for a CEO.
I suspect a private sector CEO of a similar organization would make 3-4 times that in annual compensation.
I checked ‘Faith in Practice’ on Charity Navigator. It looks good!
