I can only hope her new husband has great effect on her thinking. He is a sensible and thoughtful rock-ribbed conservative.

For most women, the expectation is that if they make an accusation, the accusation is true and immediate action will be taken.

The confirmation hearings and vote was a shock to many women.

This make cost us in a few weeks.

But we have a rule of law. Ford made an accusation, and could not prove it. There was not enough evidence to charge. The system is set up that you have to prove guilt, not innocence. For far to long the system was trending to “If a women makes an accusation then it is true”.

I actually am very surprised that Kavanugh kept going. I am shocked that Senator Collins supported him. While perhaps good for our nation (the next hearing will make this last one look like Mr Roger’s Neighborhood), it is probably bad for the GOP.

I don’t know if there’s a similarity here, but I’m a Chicago Bears fan...die hard.

I watched us squander two first round picks with Dick Butkus and Gale Sayers. I think we may have won the championship in 1963, can’t recall, but we’d get whacked and whipped by the Packers every year.

After George Halas we went thru a bunch of really bad coaches, that couldn’t win for trying. The only real joy was watching Walter Payton each week.

Anyway, we finally get a guy by the name of Mike Ditka, a former bear and favorite of George Halas.

Ditka, told the team on day one that they’d win the super bowl.

I remember preparing for the first time we met up with Green Bay, and the Chicago journalist, whom Ditka treated with disdain, asked him if the team was terrified at the thought of meeting up with the Packers.

Ditka, says, “They should be terrified at the idea of meeting up with us!” And we kicked their butts, Forrest Gregg, dirtiest player and coach of all time.

And we beat them again and again.

In short, Ditka, showed everyone how to win. Same as Trump.
Any other president and his team of advisors, would have dropped Kavanaugh at the first hint of scandal. NOt Trump. He did nothing other than to let things go.

I’m sure he got it from a good source that the accusations were lies, and he was savvy enough not to play into the trap of ridiculing or doubting the accuser. Instead he praised her.

Trump is teaching the GOP how to stand up and win. He get a few wins in your pocket and then you know how to do it next time.

McConnell believes in the old style Senate where people vote for what is best for the country not their party, otherwise he get rid of the filibuster and have it straight majority votes on everything.

Then you have others coming forth on our side, like Susan Collins, Graham, and others.

Because we are not going to let this Kafkaesque nightmare be rewarded with what the perpetrators desire. We are not going to let this bizarre sexual McCarthyism become the new political bludgeon to destroy people because of their political beliefs. Trump and Kavanaugh did the right thing, as did Mitch McConnell and that is to kill the snake in the house and beat it to death.

Kavanaugh was innocent, and this ridiculous unproven charge of something he allegedly did as a MINOR is to be the reason he is not on the Court! Are you effin kidding me. McCain isn’t that smart. Because we want to live in a world with evidence - not in a world of Stalinist show trials and death by accusation. We want to live with the presumption of innocence and with full due process. This was an attack on the Democratic process and the Constitution, it was an abuse, a lie, a false accusation, a destruction of a man and his family, purely for the sake of political power, whether it was true or not!

What did that Colbert writer say “I’m just glad we ruined his life!” That tells you all you need to know.
