I have a lot of friends that are LEOs, and as far as I know, only one of them indicated he would participate in wholesale gun confiscation.
Most of them are aware that gun owners are their only back-up when things get bad.

I would be wholesale gorilla warfare. The would first have to go with Marshall law, which if course, would really tick everyone off. Then they can expect initial backlash, firebombing, roofing nails on the roads, and attacks on the local police themselves. As it escalates the sniping would begin along with roadside bombs etc. police would quit in droves do the could stay and protect their own homes and families.
All the national guard is going to do is give us better weapons.
