GHWB lived to be 94, and Trump isn’t doing badly himself.
Maybe vegetables aren’t as essential as they’re cracked up to be.

Broccoli is my 2nd favorite vegetable.
(First, of course, is chocolate.)

Seriously. And then compare the fate of Steve Jobs who ate nothing but fruits and veggies.

There’s nothing like a nice broccoli and cheddar omelette. Get your pan nice and hot, use a little out that can stand the heat - soy or canola will do - pour in that egg with a little pepper and maybe Old Bay and chives mixed in... Then put in the tiny broccoli shoots you’ve microwaved for a minute as well as your finely grated cheddar... Roll it over... Wow!

I happen to adore broccoli, but my son didn’t when young. Here’s a joke he came home with from elementary school:
Question: What’s the difference between boogers and broccoli?
Answer: Kids don’t eat broccoli.

The man couldn't stomach vegetables, especially broccoli. And by the way, he passed these genetic defects along to us.I remember reading that, after the 2000 had been decided and W. moved into Blair House to work on the transition, one of the staff asked him if he would like a snack, and he asked for Fritos. They didn't have any, so he asked for a cheeseburger.

If George Bush had hated tax increases as much as he hated broccoli he would have been reelected.

Broccoli has a wide variety of health benefits, including its ability to prevent cancer, improve digestion, lower cholesterol levels, detoxify the body, and maximize vitamin and mineral uptake. It also prevents allergic reactions, boosts the immune system, protects the skin, prevents birth defects, lowers blood pressure, eliminates inflammation, and improves vision and ocular health.

Broccoli is okay... as a kid I absolutely hated frozen squash... it was 60s and frozen veggies were trendy.

Ok, there really is a gene that makes foods like broccoli and brussels sprouts taste bitter to some people. These vegetables contain glucosinolates which causes it. I know because I have it. It just tastes nasty to me.
