Plenty of bastard children out there. There used to be a time when being a bastard child was frowned upon by society as a whole. Also, there was a time when parents would warn their daughter’s with the phrase “why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free.”

Years ago I was in a awaiting room and picked up a “Readers Digest”; a middle-aged woman wrote an article in which she described her shock at how many of her friends (white educated professionals)thought it completely acceptable for her to dupe her boyfriend into involuntary fatherhood”. They rationalized it by saying he’d had his fun, and now she should get what she wanted. The writer was appalled by how many also considered it barely relevant if the guy stayed or not.
Very disturbing; guys need to know this is what they are dealing with.

Again, why pee off your friends by accusing someone of being the father, just let the ‘state’ take care of it.
Surprising how many people show up on Judge Judy or Peoples Court (Only 2 I can somewhat tolerate - background noise etc) with the grandparents taking money from the states to help raise their grandkids or the schemes they and bogus baby sitters work out.
We had babysitters for my 2 daughters but the pay from OUR pocket, no govt subsidy.
I remember the year they started to give tax refunds for what you paid babysitters and I told my wife to let it go and she argued until I explained that the first TAX BILL that Marlene got for her babysitting job would either drive her away OR force her to raise rates to cover the tax bill.
Around that time the Govt started providing ‘day care centers’ or made it necessary to license baby sitters, like they say - follow the money - your kid can hardly have a lemonade stand without some ‘agency’ bugging them.
