Anyone who still supports the Democrats has a criminal heart.

The GOP can still screw it up...the trail must be fair..

Remember the RINOS want Trump gone....they hope this will tank his polls for November.

Exactly right. Now we sit back and watch the GOP get squeamish and all worried about fairness. Any little trip wire could turn them against Trump, if for no other reason than to undermine his support, tarnish him in some way, or damage his political capital.

Make no mistake, the GOP views Trump as a unwanted outsider and they will do whatever it takes to marginalize him.

All of their “evidence” was hearsay. And no matter what Mike Quigley says, hearsay is NOT better than direct evidence.

“Even the eloquent lawyers for Trump like Sekulow don’t seem to get that without reasonable suspicion or probable cause, there was no legitimate basis to initiate an investigation”.

They certainly do get it and they have already conveyed that fact and they are not finished conveying it.

I disagree. Thete was comentary on the constitutional Impeachment Clauses that pointed out PDJT retained all of his Constitutipnal Rights. He has the right to face his accusers. He and only he has the absolute right to call witnesses. Schiff for brains can argue all he wants but PDJT’s defense team should demand sworn testimony from the so-called whistleblower, the genesis of this Impeachment, and Schiff for brains, a co-conspirator. The Senate cannot deny him this right.

If there are witnesses then this goes on for 6 months, and Trump is prohibited from doing a lot of stuff.

They will wrap everything in red tape until the next election.

If Ginsburg passes they will not let him appoint another judge.

I think that is their game plan.

They should declare them null and void since they contain no actual crimes.

Not even ‘acquit’ - just declare them deficient as basis for a ‘trial’ and nullify them.

Then Trump can declare himself NOT IMPEACHED. They will argue he was, but meh...

And then it’s DONE with the worst possible outcome for the Dems.

It was probably President Trump’s idea to leak it to CBS, knowing Schiff would take the bait - if so, classic Trump.

After this morning I actually think a motion to dismiss may go through.

“Not even ‘acquit’ - just declare them deficient as basis for a ‘trial’ and nullify them. Then Trump can declare himself NOT IMPEACHED.”

No, the key to whether or not President Trump is fully vindicated has little to do with whether he is acquitted vs. having the case dismissed, or found deficient.

The real key is how partisan the final Senate vote is. By far the best outcome for the President to receive in the Senate 100% backing from Republicans and also several crossover Democrats, as he did in the House.

This will prove to the public that this entire impeachment was nothing but a political attack by Democrats - they could not convince a single Republican to join them and could not even convince all of their fellow Democrats.

What is the best way to ensure Republican solidarity? Up the anti, and vote on acquittal vs conviction. There are several squishy Republicans who might vote with the Democrats not to dismiss or not to declare a mistrial - but that is a far cry from voting to convict/remove.

There is no way in hell any Republicans will vote with the Democrats in calling for the President’s conviction and removal.

That is why they won’t go for an early dismissal - because if THAT is the question, it would be far too easy for a couple squishy Republican Senators to say “let’s get all the facts before deciding”.

If the Senators are asked to vote on whether or not to convict and remove an obviously innocent President of their own party, those same squishy Republicans would have to be stark raving mad to pull that trigger.

You: They certainly do get it and they have already conveyed that fact and they are not finished conveying it.

Then why didn't they move for dismissal right out of the gate?

You almost have to wonder if CBS wasn’t set up with this false news, just to see if they would report it. It’s clear they didn’t try to verify it with any GOP Senators. Still, they ran with story because it seemed true in their mind. And when Schiff repeated it on the Senate floor, it was icing on the cake. Trump Derangement syndrome is real!

“Then why didn’t they move for dismissal right out of the gate”?

Because they want to prove their points for all to see and rub it in their faces.

Use your brain.

I want WITNESSES, Now.

NOPE! When you bet, and the rest of the table folds, pick up the chips, YOU WIN. FULL STOP.

If, as in Portia's Plea For Mercy, you want your pound of flesh, get it after the Acquittal Vote.

Don't confuse "Getting biden, shitff and eric the red", with winning the acquittal of President Donald John Trump.

When this fiasco is behind us, OK, I'm 100% with you, let's get the bastards.

Senators are like little kids, one little story, or misplaced word, can change their feeble empty minds, they are not as smart as you and me.

Take the win, get out of the casino, go get dinner and a drink, and laugh on the way to the bank.
