I remember reading where the Red Chinese had some burp guns while reading about the Korean War.

Have I heard of the Burp gun? Well hell yeah lots of us had them when I was a kid, and not a single adult or cop freaked out or tried to kill us for being normal, you know that thing boys aren't allowed to be nowadays, American boys!

Good lord. That’s some ingenuity there.
To: 9422WMR
That is correct. Any man would call it a BELCH gun.

The internals appear to be very similar to the SKS internals but simpler. Doesn’t appear to be a two piece bolt carrier and separate bolt, just the bolt and spring? Can’t get much simpler than that. I like how it just tips open to pull the bolt and spring.

Sks is gas-operated, ppsh is open-bolt.
To: NorseViking
Recoil cycled, much easier with a short cartridge. I understood that part. Just cool how simple it is designed as to be opened and cleaned so easily. Like mentioned, very simple design. :)

I got it:) But if you want really simple PPS is that.
To: NorseViking
Yep, less complicated and less moving parts the better the reliability. I got rid of all my AR platform firearms for that reason alone. For general purpose practicality and bullet proof reliability I will stick with the SKS. They can say what they like, but I have been there with situations where it truly mattered my firearm absolutely remained functional without fail in very poor conditions.
