I had a tortie that was usually lovable, if a bit cantankerous. But take her to the vet and all bets were off. The vet would see me and her come in the door and he would lean in to one of his assistants and say “Gina, we’re gonna need the eagle gloves for this one”.

As a side note, in those videos you see and the one you posted, the cats are just slapping with their claws retracted. They're not scratching........
My greyhound would likely kill a cat if we’d let it loose. It killed a skunk in our back yard and did it so quickly that none of the skunk’s spray got on her. Everyone knows greyhounds are fast, but they are also very quick.
My wife thinks that Ginger’s obvious interest in cats outside means she wants to be “friends” with them. I know that Ginger wants them dead.
Served the foul beastie right for biting the poor kitty’s tail.
I have always had tortie and white cats. It's "my" cat color. I love their tortitude.
I once had a roommate who brought home an Irish Setter. My cat at the time took one look at this huge monster, leaped up on its back and dug her claws in. Then she leaped off. That dog never bothered her, wouldn't even sniff her after that. She was just letting it know whose house it was and who was boss. With all that thick fur, I think the dog was just startled and intimidated, which was sufficient for the cat.
Of course, I do not approve of people letting their cats go after a dog's eyes and causing pain and lasting harm. I don't think that is funny at all.
And the Chinese will eat anything that moves
