“she justified her possession of her billions by saying she inherited it from her husband. But, she also won’t pass it on to the next generation because neither she nor the late Steve Jobs believed in “legacy building” in that way.”
Laughable. Typical chick mentality. Why do her heirs deserve it any less than she does. If she wasn’t full of BS, she would give it all away right now and make her own way in the world with her own skills and talents....right?
If anything Jobs children are much more deserving of his money than her. Theyre his flesh and blood, shes not blood kin.
The English system of primogeniture has a lot to recommend it over our system of spousal inheritance. It was the norm throughout history for children to inherit their fathers estates and it was understood that they would provide for their widowed mother. Its only in the last fifty years or so that its become accepted for the surviving wife to inherit over the children. Its an outgrowth of feminism over patrilineal society.
Theres no reason Laurene Jobs should inherit Steves fortune before his children. If I were him I would have left her enough to live comfortably and the rest would have gone to my children.
In October 1989, 34-year-old Steve Jobs gave a "View from the Top" lecture at Stanford Business School. 26-year-old Laurene Powell was a new MBA student and sneaked to the front of the lecture and started up a conversation with Jobs, who was seated next to her. They ended up having dinner together that night.
A year and a half later on March 18, 1991, they married in a ceremony at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. Presiding over the wedding was Kobun Chino Otogawa, a Zen Buddhist monk.
Their son, Reed, was born September 1991, followed by daughters Erin in 1995 and Eve in 1998. Laurene is also the stepmother of Lisa Brennan-Jobs, Steve's daughter from a previous relationship, who was born in 1978.
Hot young blondie Laurene was trolling for Big Game, and she landed her Whale.
Now, she's gonna lecture us all about how smart her gina is...
Very interesting point and I agree with you.
