Black business owners like him need to step up and take back black culture from the thugs and drug dealers who hijacked it.

What an idiotic thing to write.

No, what you wrote was.

Why is it President Trump's responsibility to contribute to help them?

He's opposing the rioting and looting. He's not encouraging it nor giving the local cops stand down orders.

You want someone to pay these men and women to rebuild, let it be the liberals whose policies have destroyed black culture and family and whose decisions have allowed the rioting to continue unrestrained.

No, I suggested that Trump, as an act of outreach, make a contribution to people who are suffering in a state that may well be in play this year. You responded that I should give my own money, which does nothing to help Trump in his outreach to these same people.

No, Sal is right.

Donate your own money and give them better reasons to vote for president Trump than the fact that he just bought a vote, because the next dem that comes along and offers even more money will then get the vote. And votes will just then go to the highest bidder and the entitlement mentality that has destroyed our society will continue to fester.

“No, what you wrote was.”

The point was for the President to set a high profile example of outreach to the black community. You think that is idiotic?

Whether I make a donation or not is not relevant to President Trump’s re-election.

I did not say it was his responsibility.

And as to the “liberals” (ie socialists) who have contributed to the destruction of the black community, they will do nothing except more of the same. It is our opportunity (same with the volunteers who go clean up Baltimore) to make inroads with black people who believe in family and free enterprise.

Or, we can let the majority of the black community twist in the wind as some here seem to want. I don’t see much Christian charity (neither intent nor action) in that.

Yep this the kind of man and family we have to
support without any quid pro quo for his vote.
The long term social benefits to all are huge and
frankly we need more like him everywhere.

His wife said they didn’t have commotion insurance and in
fact his idiotic lockdown state prevented him
from ever opening the doors. What were the odds
that first the Chinese virus then a riot would so adversely
affect his life? It’s like the reverse of my former coworker sitting
2 cars from Colin Ferguson’s rampage one evening
then dodging danger at Ground Zero how could you
cheat death twice?

Doubtless this turn of events is a huge red pill for
him and perhaps others in his network. It will be interesting to
see if he ever reopens anywhere, the doubters can track
if he pockets the cash and/or moves away. If he
sets some aside for a college fund I wouldn’t blame him at all

Yep.

And I would argue that virtually every voter has a hand in the destruction of the black community via support for the welfare state. Only a handful of constitutionalists and libertarians want to end the welfare state.

And you completely evaded commenting on the point about buying votes with that method.

Which is exactly what he would be doing.

And then the next person coming along and offering more money would then buy their votes too.

So elections would not be held on who have the better policies for the best of this country, but who has the deepest pockets and buy the most votes.

Votes for sale.

YEA!!!

That’s the ticket.

Oath Keepers have been proven to be as useful as tits on a suitcase.

Oath Keepers over extended themselves beyond their initial charter. I walked away from it, but there are some chapters that will provide security if a business owner engages them.

Wow metmom, I find myself a little surprised that a homeschooling Mom would react in such a childish way. You and Sal can quit making presumptions about my motives and intentions. I am simply suggesting that President Trump can play a moral leadership role in this mess by setting an example of personal generosity, a gesture to humanize him in a community that sees him as the enemy. I don’t consider that “vote buying”, even if the gesture would benefit the President politically.

They are not a genie in the bottle. If you want people to risk their lives for you, you have to put something in. Like relationship. There is a business asking for support in NY and it is on their webpage calling for volunteers.
