I am perfectly happy to let Antifa and BLM burn down all of the urban areas in the US, especially on the West and Northeast coasts.

They always have the best headlines, but so often they are baloney or sensationalizing. I honestly think they do more harm than good. I used to follow Worldnetdaily too, but abandoned for the same reason.

Problem is, ANTIFA is a protected class out there.
Because any sane cop is going to disarm an unknown man with a gun FIRST before they will move in to disarming any unknown man with a bat.

I can only half agree with you. If the threat recedes when you present your gun, then you are no longer justified to shoot. You can only shoot when you have imminent threat of death or great bodily harm to you or someone else you are protecting. I would say that, in a sane world with sane DA's and prosecutors, the fact that he ultimately did not fire will be to his advantage. The question to bring charges will be answered by what his state of mind was at that moment and whether he was in fear for his life or serious bodily harm when he presented the firearm. I think the answer to that is yes.
There is another condition to be aware of. He needs to be 'clean', that is he cant have been an instigator himself. That may come down to why he was there in the first place. Which 'rally' was condoned by the city and which party just decided to show up and be disruptive (pro-Trump vs BLM/Antifa).
I will add one more thing that I advocate strongly for. That is if you carry, get a good protection benefit/insurance like US Lawshield. At least then you wont go broke defending yourself from the aftermath of what is otherwise a justied use of your firearm for defense.
If you’re feeling sufficiently threatened to warrant pulling the gun, then you’d better shoot the threat.
Tough call here. If he had started shooting they might have swarmed him with those shields and bats. Notice one Antifa trooper shattered his cab window with a pipe or bat. The driver appeared to have been tear gases as well while he was inspecting the damage. So he pulled while partially blinded.
I'm making the point that you don't use the weapon to waive around to scare people off.
My point is NOT that he should have shot, but that he should not have pulled the weapon because he wasn’t in imminent danger.
It’s to the point that if you do anything to protect yourself that you will be in serious legal trouble. Since that is the case, you shouldn’t brandish your weapon. You should use it. Take as many of these bastards out and leave no witnesses. I seriously have to ask the question if your self defense should end with those attacking you. Obviously the cops as much a threat to your well being as the thugs.
I could see myself pulling in that situation because I’ve got armed people behind me and I just got gassed — which very likely is prelude to an assault. I might be second-guessed by a DA with the luxury of watching this in his padded chair.
He does sort of point in when he racks the slide (the camera doesnt show what may have been in the line of sight) but a low time concealed carrier, who doesnt carry chambered, may only have one muscle memorized method of racking, and if you practiced on a range, it would be with the gun leveled down range.

I dont think the left has a clue how this is all going to end. I see the shift slowly happening and in about 2 years you will start seeing a change in how Antifa is treated by the courts. at this point George Soros prosecutors are protecting them. Theses are all elected officials and were generally ignored on the ballot by the public but now people are realizing how important elected judges and prosecutors are.
